09/11/2017 16:58 | If the shorters aren't allowed access to the placing shares (and they shouldn't be) they will want to clear their positions pretty damn quickFireworks at dawn! | mad foetus
09/11/2017 16:56 | Dilution, Yes but en route to becoming a multi-billion pound company. | bocase
09/11/2017 16:56 | Excellent for funding certainty and ability to really ramp upExcellent priceExcellent for long term of company and shareholdersExcellen | meganxmas
09/11/2017 16:54 | To be fair, that's a hell of a lot of good news and expansion, considering placings are not my favourite RNS: This placing will allow IQE to expand its capital expenditure programme in its new foundry, with the purchase of up to 40-60 new MOCVD machines over the next three to five years. IQE is enjoying material demand for its VCSEL wafers from a leading global consumer electronics company for use in one of its mass market consumer products. In conjunction with multiple other customer engagements IQE expects this demand to increase as its technology is applied across multiple consumer applications and platforms. | luxaeterna1
09/11/2017 16:54 | v g rns and future statement de-risked now, if it needed it. | adejuk
09/11/2017 16:54 | I like this statement tucked away in the RNS: However, should the VCSEL ramp continue along its current growth curve during this quarter, then there is potential for FY17 earnings to exceed current expectations. The Board will continue to monitor current trading and plans to provide a pre-close trading update no later than the end of the year. | bocase
09/11/2017 16:46 | And me ! Sould be a mega Xmas !, | loveder
09/11/2017 16:42 | Bloody hell ... 10 per cent but at 140p. looks good to me. | meganxmas
09/11/2017 15:35 | How so spoilt, I have held them from 18p....Iqe has been around for some time it just took a while to get into gear....No longer as cheap as it once was but not expensive if all goes to plan....Think five years not five minutes... | sailastra
09/11/2017 15:34 | I was spoiled by an explosive movement last weekend after a dodgy pint Fnar fnar | thereptile
09/11/2017 14:21 | Consolidation is healthy, too The run up to results ! but frustrating We have been spoiled with the explosive Movement earlier on in the year. | grity
09/11/2017 14:07 | lol grabster - there is another version also "the pounds are locked away safely so they need no focus, then you can cosh the runners over the head, take their pennies and make more pounds" ;) | midasstingray
09/11/2017 12:18 | Some more rumours about a new augmented-reality iDevice, perhaps along the lines of 'Google Glass', but I assume it will be shinier and more expensive! Would assume that any augmented reality devices would include 3D scanning devices, so perhaps more for IQE. Also rumours of iPads coming along with FaceID as well. | luxaeterna1
09/11/2017 11:55 | I really struggle to understand how these shorters think they can make money by holding the short positions long term. Yes, if they run up too far too fast and get ahead of the moving average by a significant margin, then sure then are going to drop back but many of the short positions were opened way down at 70p and less and hell is more likely to freeze over than the share price drop back down there given the stellar prospects for 2018. The inherent danger with shorting too is that the percentages work against you and a move of say 7p per day is a 10% hit for shares shorted at 70P as as the price increases so the hit gets greater. I think we will see many reducing their positions before the interim statement next month. | bocase
09/11/2017 11:46 | 0.06% is about 400k shares. So that is only about 5% of the 8m shares changing hands that day. Clearly a lot of other trading going on day in day out. | kazoom
09/11/2017 10:54 | Coltrane increased its short position by 0.06% on 6 November when price fell 7p on day. 09/11/2017 09:22 | midasstingray - there is another version of course: "While you focus on counting pennies, someone else runs off with the pounds." ;-) | grabster
09/11/2017 08:44 | Fuji - IQE is one of many shares to own (for growth) for 2018 and beyond. There is another Welsh HQ'd company that I think will be a strong growth company in 2018 and beyond. Many opportunities out there and IQE is a good one. M | midasstingray
09/11/2017 08:29 | midasstnigray - IQE is THE 2018 share to own. "I shall repeat only once" as Rene Artois of Allo Allo used to say ... | fuji99
09/11/2017 02:37 | Interesting atm imho. Take care of enough pennies and plenty of pounds will take care of themselves. Good company with seemingly the right products at the right time. With patience this a good news story but along the way you can always make a few quid, and it all adds up in the end. Take the small opportunities along the way and help your kids out, or take the Mrs out for slap up meal or break...it's easy money with this "fairly predictable" up and down share. I am a LTH and small momentum trader. GLA. | midasstingray
08/11/2017 22:16 | mf - I think minervini is a bit naive (possibly deliberately) in his dismissal of PE (He does in fact give a bit of nod to its value as a valuation metric elsewhere.) However the bigger and probably more valuable lesson is to buy when there is very little chance of the price going down, but a substantial chance of new investors coming in and driving the price up. I cannot see that happening this side of the trading statement, so for now we have a market of people trying to time trades on pennies where the ultimate gain will probably be measured in pounds. Dull dull dull atm imho. | kazoom
08/11/2017 21:16 | I've been reading Minervini recently. The PE is a complete red herring. If the share price stays static, the PE will be below 10 in a couple of years time. But this is a growth stock at the cutting edge of technology that is at the start of the S curve of mass market adoption. I cannot think of a less useful measure than PE to help determine its value. All that matters is the future growth prospects. | mad foetus
08/11/2017 20:48 | What is a traget buy price? With a valuation of £963m and PE 43 what is a good buy price? Cheers | bb123 |
