02/11/2017 08:31 | 150 is proving a tough nut, but it will be broken and when it is, it will be broken decisively and I expect us to run up to 160 pretty quicklyAs a Gooner I also congratulate Spurs, while noting that it will take them many years before they develop the psychological weaknesses that will allow them to consistently lose 5-1 in the knock outs. | mad foetus
02/11/2017 08:27 | Now then King'y calm down !!! | dickiebird2
02/11/2017 07:55 | Spurs 2 West Ham 3 anything Madrid can't do eh | boleyn
01/11/2017 23:18 | Just got back in - it's difficult for a 'Gooner' to say it but Spurs are a brilliant team, wow what a result Great results fro Qorvo and some super IQE relevant comments in the summary...if you know what to look for Oclaro were not so great, but you can't win them all Worth reading the Lumentum CC transcript...it's oh so positive for our VCSEL business :-) S | sweenoid

01/11/2017 16:33 | A nice short squeeze would be amusing. | shabbadabbadoo2
01/11/2017 16:21 | Marshall Wace LLP shorter decreased their holding to 2.66% on 30/10/2017. This data current for the 1st Nov, source FCA. Slowly but surely they are unwinding, 42+m shares to go. | wattene
01/11/2017 13:55 | Lumentum have a margin of 40% plus on 3D sensing which is way above their corporate average. They are still negotiating that margin for the latter part of 2018. With that sort of return IQE will remain Lumentums supplier of choice. The book to bill ratio of 1.5 sees no sign of reducing during 2018 so the demand is ongoing (Lumentum) & will no doubt increase if Android does adopt VCSELs for 3D sensing. | picobird
01/11/2017 13:28 | IQE must be shipping VCSELS to Lumentum in advance of Lumentum shipping product to Apple. So lets say we are one month ahead in earning our revenues, we could be looking at more like 22m (assuming 10% to IQE) revenues this year from sales to Lumentum. hopefully on top of that we are shipping VCSELS to other customers! | owenga
01/11/2017 13:21 | Wh do we make of this old bit of commentary: Particularly the following: Three years ago, more than 80 per cent of IQE’s production was to support wireless technology in mobile handsets. But Chris Meadows, IQE’s head of marketing, says that has now dropped to around 70 per cent, because the fastest growing sector is photonics, the area of technology that is concerned with the properties and transmission of photons, such as fibre optics. “Dogs can [detect] compounds down to parts per million, or parts per billion even,” Mr Meadows says. “Until now, we have not been able to use technology to do that, but optical sensing is getting to the precision where that can happen using lasers and detectors.” He says the semiconductor industry is at an inflection point: “Mobiles have grown the industry, but compound semiconductors are key to driverless cars and sensors in healthcare technology. Healthcare will be dependent on compound semiconductors.&rdqu Mr Meadows says the cost of compound semiconductors account for $10 of the price of a mobile phone. The part played by IQE represents about 30 per cent of that. Isn't $3 per phone quite a bit more than we had factored in? | mad foetus
01/11/2017 13:19 | so we are really learning nothing new here other than the average monthly income from VCSELS for 3D sensing at the moment - which is entirely Apple-centric and in 2018 will become more broad-based as other applications come online is likely $4.5 million per month......ongoing. Lumentum grudgingly accepted that they CANNOT supply enough demand - in other words they cant produce enough, the customer wants more than they can produce- this looks really good, as it suggests the monthly revenues for the VCSELS will ramp up to nearer $50million per month...or perhaps more. Lumentum also clarified that the yield issues affecting AMS who make the full module are not due to them, in other words, any problems with YIELD for the final modules for the iPhone X is NOT down to them or indeed IQE :-) The interesting thing is who is going to supply Lumentum with the Edge emitting lasers for their big new Chinese customer,IQE make a big noise about VCSELS but historically have been a big EE laser supplier too, of course Lumentum make them as well but can they produce enough as is their dilemma with VCSELS :-) Lumentum won't be drawn on whether this order is for 3D sensing, if it is, then its obviously for Android smartphones. I have had enough of this CC - it said all I wanted it to :-) yet again, the analyst community showed what a universally poor standard they are! S | sweenoid
01/11/2017 12:54 | so lets say $180m by end of year, so $18m for IQE. | owenga

01/11/2017 12:51 | ok confirmed 3d was 40m for whole of first quarter, and October was in excess of the first quarter, so more than $40m, so we are looking at well over $120m for quarter ended 31 December. We believe we make about 10% MF. | owenga
01/11/2017 12:45 | All of them, religiously. I just can't remember everything! | mad foetus

01/11/2017 12:42 | How much of that do we get? Any ideas? | mad foetus
01/11/2017 12:40 | correction $40million plus ;-) and ramp to continue month to month $40million in the quarter to September 30 they also confirm they have $300million in orders for this CY also very positive comments on their other business supplying the hyperscale companies :-) | sweenoid
01/11/2017 12:38 | Lumentum $40m 3D revenues just for the month of October | owenga
01/11/2017 12:32 | while we wait this from Macom on area's of very hightinterest to IQE cos we supply the wafers :-) MACOM to Showcase its Industry Leading GaN-on-Silicon Portfolio and High-Performance MMICs and Diodes at IEEE COMCAS 2017 in Tel Aviv, Israel LOWELL, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MACOM Technology Solutions Inc.
