02/11/2017 16:22 | Lets hope you stay out pal. | pshevlin
02/11/2017 16:12 | I am waiting for 130 to get back in GLA | pal44
02/11/2017 16:07 | Thanks maroon I did just get back in but at a little above 152. Wish I knew what it will do now though | mad foetus
02/11/2017 16:05 | Mad foetus, hats off to a nice trade there if you made it! | maroonbells
02/11/2017 15:33 | Very interesting, SH - but absolutely nothing about goats or tea making capabilities of VCSELs. Am I missing something? | yertiz
02/11/2017 15:26 | grabster, all you could want to know is but a Google search away: | sheep_herder
02/11/2017 14:29 | adejuk, if you use IQE's wafers in an automated tea dispenser, I can confirm IQE can make tea. | luxaeterna1
02/11/2017 13:51 | lux will it bring me tea in bed? | adejuk
02/11/2017 13:49 | Sheep Herder - not really. I'm sure I've been told - but so much of the technical stuff that I've read on this thread either goes over my head or gets lost amid the mass of other technical stuff - bits of which do register, but other bits don't. luxaeternal's post helps explain though ;-) | grabster
02/11/2017 13:29 | The VCSELs are historically mainly used in fibre optic data centres, IQE apparently hold the world record data rate for a VCSEL transmitting along an optical fibre, their compound-semi technology apparently also used 75% less power, so it really is no surprise that IQE products are in demand. Mostly datacentre, 3D imaging, possibly printing and industrial heating markets. cREO appears to be mostly about putting a buffer layer onto silicon that allows you to build GaN circuits on top. This is great because normally the crystal lattices aren't compatible and break easily - if IQE have mastered this with patent protection, it's invaluable to the market. Higher output, more efficient, faster and smaller size, all great things. Mostly targetting the RF/wireless and power switching market, possibly CPUs and memory. | luxaeterna1
02/11/2017 13:26 | Back to goats.... | skinny
02/11/2017 13:18 | grabster - you really don't know what cREO is? sweenoid, calm down.... I was listening! I was listening! | sheep_herder
02/11/2017 12:54 | I have absolutely no clue about the relevance of this message on Australian 'Hot Copper' bulletin board - it's just summat that came in a Google alert email just now. Pasting it here in case it means anything - apologies if not relevant or useful: Good to know that IQE have a successful line of business in VCSELS - it should help in the value of the IQE shares held by SLX. However as I understand it cREO is not used in VCSELS (at least not yet) and that as such it has no immediate impact of the cREO royalty (or the US$5m payment for 1/4/2018). From what I understand cREO is likely to be first used in wireless and power wafers which will (hopefully) be shipped in about 2020; is this correct? Does cREO have a possible application to VCSELS in the future; from what I hear cREO is about GAN (or possibly also GaAs) on silicon. Also Translucent had about 80 patents that were licensed to IQE - looking back some of these were in PV and optical electronics and were presumably licensed to IQE; do you know if any of these are likely involved with VCSELS (or IQE PV wafers) and if so whether we get a royalty from them if IQE uses these patents in future wafer production in these application areas. | grabster
02/11/2017 12:28 | Looks like they will be moving it up again then tomorrow | momentum1
02/11/2017 12:20 | Basic rule for brokers, add 20% to the share price and keep moving up when the share price catches up | mad foetus
02/11/2017 12:14 | Haven't got the note - just saw the headline here... | someuwin
02/11/2017 12:13 | Nice one Peel Hunt. About time! | moormoney
02/11/2017 12:12 | Someuwin can you post link please | momentum1
02/11/2017 12:07 | shorters switching to FEVR perhaps, on downgrade. | grabster
02/11/2017 12:00 | Peel Hunt raises target from 150 to 188 | someuwin
02/11/2017 11:35 | Hammered He won't know if today's buying is by the shorters as it is normally delayed for 2 day's!! | aphrodites
02/11/2017 11:32 | You are indeed correct about the short disclosure and there of course cannot be any certainty however given the nature and size of the trades and volume I don't think I am going to be massively wrong here. Anyhow the trend is up the volume is fantastic, the sun is out let's get past 160.. | momentum1
02/11/2017 11:26 | Does anyone have a link to the Apple analyst briefing today? thanks | owenga
02/11/2017 11:19 | momentum - you can’t possibly know yet whether that statement is true or not so why make it ? The FCA won’t know until 3.30 so how did you get the inside skinny ? | hammerd2 |
