Just read Paul Scott's stockpedia article, lol, what a complete conundrum that guy presents. Do people REALLY follow him
IQE is his biggest holding, he gets up, panics, a bit by the sound of it says he was underwhelmed and sells some, then amazingly goes back to bed to sleep!!! Did he read past the figures, if he did and he was underwhelmed, it's rather astonishing....isn't it?

Anyone who knew ANYTHING about this stock, would have disregarded the 1st half 'figures' they were frankly not important, today was ALWAYS going to be about the statement -me, Hammerd and Sheepherder kept reiterating that fact and we were right, given my history with this stock, that's no surprise is it ;-) ok I CAN back-up the hubris , just read my posts :-)

Have not seen any notes, just the PH and N+1 targets, tomorrow the more interesting assessments from house broker Canaccord, together with Edison who always seem spot on , together with the thoughts of Lee Simpson at the new analyst Stifel. I am braced for a laugh at Tempus in The Times.

Tomorrow's press will all be about our 'connection' with iPhone8 , I called it our 'Siamese twin'( we are conjoined and what's bad about that!) , I will be loving the hype around its launch and our intimate connection, I don't care whether the semantics are correct, let the 'true rumour' pull in the punters

From iii, what I want to be hearing more of tomorrow

Gepetto, sorry there is not too many people interested in answering your question. The fact is those figures are history and it is the future which matters. Just look at the presentation slides posted earlier by someuwin and take in the company's drivers to future profits and that is where the big interest lies. Simply stunning imo. Xylos

I agree with your last sentence, for sure. My Stockopedia screen is showing 3.27 for 2017 eps consensus but let's not split hairs. I suspect the consensus rose because of Stifel initiating? Or did others also upgrade after the TU - I don't recall. No matter, it is the 2018/19 upgrades that matter now - perhaps the first will be out tomorrow?

According to Stockopedia, there hasn't been a big increase in consensus eps forecasts over the last few months. It was 3.15p three months ago and is now 3.23p with just a small increase in August. So I'm not quite sure what was meant.

Paul Scott says that companies should say what they mean with a number when they make statements like this and I think he has a point.

Well done to Sweenoid, Hammerd and others who have done the leg work and kept us long term holders in the game. A vote of approval from the market too. Exciting times ahead. If the company can look after the EPS then the share price will look after itself.

Nice outcome after a dip this morning!

Quick question, Degiro says the share price is at 125 for me...I know it closed at 147. Anyone using the broker know why?

Well it's been a lovely day after a dodgy start when I left the house at 8,05am when the share price was about 10p down. Got back at 11am & hey presto we were in positive territory.
GLA in the coming week & many thanks to all the 'brains' on this thread. Slowly getting my head around the technology, company business & prospects due to again the guys here :)

Gepetto - I believe it is the actual (revised upward) consensus immediately prior to results today. There were upgrades following the July TU but I didn't keep a note of before/after. I, too, would be interested if anyone did so,

I took a punt this morning and played it like the last update, glad it was the same outcome! What do we think about tomorrow's opening??

Regular lurker here.

Glad to see the company FINALLY getting the recognition it deserves. As is usually the case with my tech investments, I got in a bit too early! Bought most of mine between 2p and 3p (posted on the BB regularly back then) - alas I haven't held onto all of them until now, but a nice return this year none the less. I just hope the story gets to play out before we get taken out by a hostile.

Keep up the good work Sweenoid and others.

Could I just repeat my question as nobody seems to have taken much notice: The projected EPS for 2017 (consensus) is at 3.2 in the slide presentation (slide 7 from memory) Is that the actual (revised upward) or historic consensus? TIA

shauney2 - yes - they hit my first one, being x10 increase. I bought heavy at circa 15p, so now a ten bagger, patient enough to wait for at least a x50.

After four-bagging in a year, IQE plc looks better than ever

A splendid days performance all things considered, seems some called it wrong and it seems the other active thread on IQE is all washed up ;)

We can now look forward to some analyst report feedback on the Q&A over the coming weeks..."Chips and wafers make jam" or some such headline I expect ;)

I just realised I have passed a rather nice milestone with IQE but continue to suspect there is more to come, so no plans to exit before spring '18.

Congrats to all long time and more recent believers and long may it continue.

I see Dr Nelson is due 7,532,962 share options, which vest in January 2019 to add to his current holding of 28 million.
Does anybody know what the performance criteria is for those?

last time (July 20th) Peel Hunt raised the target price to 105, IQE shot over that TP on the day and today they raised the TP to 150 and it has already seen that price today! IMO, this TP is historical and the real jump will come after Apple's IPhone presentation on 12th Sept.

I declare that I didn't buy any this morning. I am an idiot. But happily didn't sell either. 1.50 still proving tricky.
