04/9/2017 12:28 | AI - I don't think that they have current cashflow, just looking at last year's accounts. Also note that any investment is going to be negative with regard to cashflow. So not a true reflection of the real cashflow. So they are just looking for figures that make a statement without looking deeper. This is just lazy analysis. | jch18
04/9/2017 12:23 | ramridge Thank you for your post 5634. I have corrected the date on my post 5631. Cheers, Martin | shanklin
04/9/2017 12:14 | Hi if anyone is interested I found this over the weekend. It gives a detailed look at compound semiconductors, history and their potential uses. www.youtube.com/watc | ianthemidget
04/9/2017 12:03 | Not forgetting it had been derated by one large shareholder, who didn't know IQE very well, believed the hype and dumped If I recall 38m on the market, then the hedge companies joined in. All wrong. Now similar investors cannot believe the large multiple increase, only because they ignore the reason behind the initial decline. Now we have more investors who think the rise is due to the 'rumoured' supply to Apple or as some would say (Peel Hunt) more than a rumour! However, that is not the real story (although it is a part). | adventurous
04/9/2017 11:43 | Some analyst keep saying how it rose sharply from 20p to these levels in a short period of time. Trying to bring the share price down, what they do not realise Is that the company has been re-rated because of its future prospects, which puts the company in a unique position. And this is only the begining. The shorters do not understand the iqe business, and their timing and ignorance will just make them loose more and more. | berber1
04/9/2017 11:37 | Actually, Stockopedia is showing 883 times FCF on TTM basis! Not an issue though because IQE were/are making capex investments that were/are likely to be immediately earnings enhancing. FWIW, I believe that the main indicator people will be looking at will be broker upgrades, especially the revised eps forecast for 2018 (and to some extent 2017/19). It will be interesting to see how soon before we can assess a new consensus figure across the 5 brokers currently covering IQE. | crazycoops
04/9/2017 11:27 | I sincerely believe that their only task is to manage the very high growth. I remember Saxby of "Arm" when he stated "Our big task ahead is to manage the huge growth". Upgrades certainly in many technology segments will be announced. -------------------- Dr Drew NElson "The Group has multiple high growth opportunities ahead, and in order to ensure future capacity is in place in a timely fashion to address H2 2018 and subsequent demand, we have announced an MOU with Cardiff City Region to secure operational facilities in a highly cost effective arrangement, together with initial orders for increased MOCVD capacity. In light of recent progress and its increasingly confident outlook, the Board expects the Group will now exceed market expectations for the full year and whilst it remains early into the start of the mass-market adoption of our technology, it is possible that with the current contract momentum, a more significant upgrade to current market expectations could be delivered for 2018." | fuji99
04/9/2017 11:22 | * Stock is now trading on 180 times its current cash flow Holy !! | american idiot
04/9/2017 11:01 | Had this via IG: * A rocketing share price has made semiconductor manufacturer IQE one of the best-performing and largest stocks on AIM ahead of half-year results expected on Sept 5 * Stock is up 250 pct this year - and nearly eightfold since June 2016 - taking IQE's market cap to a billion pounds on net income of £19.3 mln * Brokers point to the possibility of IQE's chips being used in the new iPhone 8 launching on September 12. Its shares rose on July 20 after it said it saw higher than expected demand for H1 [nL3N1KB34H] * IQE's sudden share price rise has seen its shares move from among the best value to the worst value in Europe, according to Starmine * Stock is now trading on 180 times its current cash flow * Trying to value IQE by traditional peer group methods is "meaningless" because of its uniqueness, according to house broker Canaccord Genuity, that rates the shares a "buy" along with the three other brokers covering the stock * Short sellers appear to have taken notice of the stock's rise: utilization of shares available to borrow has quadrupled to 20 pct since June; shares out on loan up to 3.5 pct of outstanding from 1 pct over the same period | tini5

04/9/2017 09:11 | The market thanks you for your shares. Hopefully it won't take too long to clear the overhang. | hammerd2
04/9/2017 08:47 | Sold all mine this morning, I'm expecting there to be plenty of opportunity to get back in here. If it flys away and I'm wrong, well I've made some great profits here, so no regrets. GLA, it's just got too speculative for me. | darola
04/9/2017 08:35 | Shanklin - I think you will find the mello presentation was given in jan 2016 and not 2017 | ramridge
04/9/2017 08:22 | Sold 40% of my holding. Not that I dont think it can go higher in the longer term but valuation a bit stretched at the moment. There will need to be a lot of positives in the results and I think management will play things down to ensure they meet numbers going forward. Also large Director sale not long ago helped with my decision. If there are some positive suprise upsides in the results I can buy back in again. Korea situation and October is the month for crashes so decided to go defensive with cash waiting to be invested. | amt
04/9/2017 08:07 | Shanklin-harassment of management is the 'gentlest term' I can use to describe my repeated attempts, asking management to do the same, I would settle for just the presentation to be released but also asked for a CC transcript and audio. I can only try ;-) We shall see, I am quite optimistic about them releasing the presentation S | sweenoid
04/9/2017 07:56 | Based on the presentation given by the FD at Mello on 16-Jan-16 it would seem IQE are not completely shy about interacting with investors in a meaningful way if offered the opportunity. Hopefully there will be more of this going forward. It would be helpful if IQE made this week's presentation available to view online. | shanklin
04/9/2017 07:48 | "..The percentage figures in an Investment Trust's holdings list are based on the valuation of each holding, not the number of shares.." Quite. And breaching certain percentages can trigger a sell merely to maintain a balanced portfolio mix - without it indicating any kind of negativity towards a stock. | grabster
04/9/2017 07:33 | Bauchshapt: re your 5617. Katie Potts at Herald did not need to add to her holding of IQE to move it from 2.8% (2nd) to 3% (top) of her list of holdings in HRI between her June and July factsheets. IQE Did it all by itself thanks to the surge in the share price during July.. The percentage figures in an Investment Trust's holdings list are based on the valuation of each holding, not the number of shares. | shavian
04/9/2017 07:22 | To clear it up - if you are a subscriber (your screen name appears in blue) you can post links directly without changing a tt to a tT or Tt, but if you're scum like me and aren't a subscriber (your screen name appears in black) then you do. Thais, at least, was how it worked last week. | hammerd2
04/9/2017 06:57 | picobird. According to IQE, Apple never divulges their supply deals and prohibit anyone in their supply chain from saying that they are in Apple's supply chain. Apart from that, IQE do not supply Apple directly. IQE supplies their wafers to chip makers who sell their chips to the likes of Apple. It means that any deals that IQE makes will be with Apple's suppliers and not with Apple. I do not expect to hear that IQE has any deals with Apple unless either IQE or Apple goes into the chip making business. As far as I know, neither is the case. | daijavu
03/9/2017 23:48 | Not true NY Boy - see Dimplomat's post - you just need to put a capital letter within the http(s) to fool advfn's filters - they apparently disapprove of people posting links to "competing" websites. Pretty lame really, especially as they have not cottoned on to the workaround. | kazoom

03/9/2017 21:55 | Picobird, re the Advfn email in which you say there is a statement that: "There’s growing speculation that Apple will announce a major supply deal with a UK component maker, IQE Plc.", I just wonder whether this is little more than a teaser to get subscriptions in. | aimingupward2 |
