05/9/2017 09:10 | Well discussion of the actual financials may happen here, but I doubt it, the share price has generated the excitement, not the financials. Seems to me everyone just wants to imagine the future. Usually some folk discuss the accounts. Its an unusual thread, as its not full of hype and loss-making. 'Normally' people discuss ratings and such like. But clearly, talking about those is only for shorters and derampers here. | yump

05/9/2017 09:09 | Sheep_Herder - the analysts will want to see the white of their eyes and look for the body language to back up the RNS words. That's what I mean by "better be good". I have repeated here and other BBs that the medium to long term prospects for IQE are outstanding. Today's RNS doesn't change that for me. What I am profiting from is the share price ramping that took place before today, by selling my full position at an average of 142, and buying them all back now at a substantial discount. To me it was a short term asymmetrical risk/ reward play. | ramridge
05/9/2017 09:09 | Why would he bother explaining to you more than he already has? I'm sure the holders of hundreds of thousands or even millions of IQE shares (many from very low share price levels :)) are more than happy to keep their investment here, and count their paper profit and won't care if others miss out because they cannot see the woods for the trees. It's not a competition but if it was I know who would be winning and losing on this board... | richardc77
05/9/2017 09:08 | Considering the so called -ve results It's sitting pretty good. Cc should Place it back in Blue. Load up the Boats about to sail ! | grity
05/9/2017 09:06 | It would be good to know what shortens do from here. Suspect we will see steady buying from brokers key clients in coming weeks. | mad foetus
05/9/2017 09:04 | yump - the company statement is far clearer and simpler than most. Seems you are struggling to generate negativity and gloom, without success ;-) | grabster
05/9/2017 09:03 | Doom and gloom merchants not getting the prolonged drop they hoped for. Bad luck chaps, onward and upwards. | tini5
05/9/2017 08:58 | sweenoid Perhaps, given the vast amount of information you've posted before, you could help all those who haven't actually read the earnings statement, by explaining what financial details the silly folk are missing ? Seeing as you have been studying the financials and presumably, by your comment you think they are important. | yump
05/9/2017 08:55 | galatea99 - I bought back 70% of my position @125 when the drop hit -10% . Waiting to see for the rest. | ramridge
05/9/2017 08:55 | sweeniod wait till 9 30 ,more 180 target note will come. | jaws6
05/9/2017 08:53 | I'd love to know genuinely what these types of companies do, but I am purely a technical trader so don't go into funny-mentals, but anything which is a growing UK business is great for all concerned. Good luck all, I've enjoyed it so far. | bulltradept
05/9/2017 08:52 | I thought it interesting that the brokers note did not call this a buy but a "key buy". Many were hoping to buy around £1 but that isn't going to happen. Could even be blue by mid morning | mad foetus
05/9/2017 08:51 | More than likely the conference call at 9.30am will be very more upbeat than the actual public release at 7am this morning. What is said verbally to analysts questions will provide greater insight with regard to their future expectations. I would not be surprised to see the share price marked into the blue later today. What a fantastic opportunity to buy this morning. | aphrodites
05/9/2017 08:49 | If you have not read EVERY word in the statement you are missing out on the story here. I confess don't always read all the detail...but here the company have really taken the time to spell it out...to their credit as this is a complex story to get your head around if not into the technology. Brings out the multiple revenue streams that will come online here in the months and years ahead. Not selling. Impressed. | nickdr99
05/9/2017 08:49 | ramridge, I'll bite. Please explain why the conference call "better be good". Do you think the analysts will have missed the forward looking statements like most on here? Are you too placing too much emphasis on the results rather than what is about to take off? | sheep_herder
05/9/2017 08:48 | thanks Galatea Best be ahead of the message .....and then ignore the NOISE :-) Also best to actually READ an earnings statement, a fact completely lost on many That's me done for the day S | sweenoid
05/9/2017 08:48 | Its on a p/e of 40 which is discounting the future a lot, presumably as share prices look ahead, or at least they look ahead when it suits. Try taking the exchange tailwind off as well. People talk about growth a lot, but the value is ultimately based on what drops out as profits and earnings - unless relying on a US takeover at a massive revenue multiple. The true 'inflection point' will be when investment, R&D and cost of sales appear to be settling down and increased revenue starts to drop though to profit. I'll just wait for some financial clues. Perhaps I'll miss out. | yump
05/9/2017 08:48 | Those bigtime shorters have not got the dramatic share price plunge that they presumably wanted.. They will be hoping that the DOW's delayed reaction to weekend Korea news might spread a bit of gloom and dull things a bit (DOW was closed yesterday) | grabster
05/9/2017 08:47 | @ramridge: You'd better be quick to buy back in. People are starting to read the RNS and broker notes and realising that they may miss the boat if they wait for the share price to "drop like a stone". | galatea99
05/9/2017 08:44 | That's right they are clearly gearing up for bigger things ... so forget the noise, chill, and enjoy the ride. | hannath
05/9/2017 08:43 | @sweenoid: That N+1 Singer note also states the present share price is just a little more than 20x their bull case FY18 forecast and that that forecast "includes only potential VCSEL related upgrades". So all the potential in other technologies is in for free as are all profit upgrades for 2019 and beyond. Still "cheap as chips"! | galatea99
05/9/2017 08:39 | Any "investor" actually reading the detail in today's report will see nothing but growth coming in the years ahead for IQE. For any fund manager i.e. Katie Potts etc the chance to have your clients money in such a high growth story is mouth watering. | blueflame
05/9/2017 08:35 | The conference call at 9:30 am better be good. A weak performance will push the share price fall into double digits. A convincing one will stem the fall to low single digit. All IMO. | ramridge |
