It probably amounts to the same thing, but the legally specified period for objections is 45 days. That is, however, 45 days from the date of PUBLICATION of the notice inviting objections. So the differenCe between "two months" and "45 days" arises from organising the publication in local media. If, in any of the listings where there is a "Yes", you click on the Application Number, it will bring up a .pdf of the public notice. That shows, at the beginning, an "OBJECTION DEADLINE" and, right at the end, the date and medium of publication. The difference between those two dates in all those I've looked at is (my spreadsheet tells me) 46 days.

I'm going to make an objection... and co-incidentally sell all my IOF shares the previous day. At say 50p
Then, a week or so later, I'm going to withdraw my objection, but mysteriously buy more IOF shares the previous day at say 35p!

PPS if you look at the actual 'existing' water rights page at

hxxp://nris.mt.gov/dnrc/waterrights/default.aspx

...it says at the top that the last data update was on 3rd October. I suspect that the overall water rights database (including 'Pending's) was updated last Friday just before they granted our application.

If I am right and there is a weekly update, we should see our application 'pop up' this coming Friday 10th on the web page, showing 'Yes' along with the objections deadline, which I suspect will be in early December (perhaps 5th December?).

Should give a decent period for IOF to continue negotiations with any water-JV partners?

PS a lot of the applications with a 'Yes' have no data (just "null") when you click the 'View' link. This means that the applications are no longer 'Pending': they are either confirmed and moved to the Water Rights page, denied after objections, or withdrawn by the applicant.

However, looking at those applications which have a prelim grant but *are* still 'Pending', there don't seem to be many which have objections indicated... just a couple... of course this doesn't mean that our application will escape without objections, if it is a 'biggie'...

I interpret the DNRC table to mean that the 'Yes' is the preliminary decision, and the date is the deadline for objections. They just haven't updated their table yet, perhaps the paperwork needs to be stamped by someone else... or maybe they only update their table once a week or whatever!

Just try this: click a sample of the 'Yes' links... then scroll to the bottom of the application assessment documents which appear, to find the very last date shown (ie. the date the application was provisionally granted). Then have a look back at the web page table. You will see that in all cases (or all the ones I checked anyway), the deadline for objections is 2 months from the date of grant. Remember they use US-style dates!

So we can hope that (once the Atlantis decision is uploaded to the table), the deadline for objections should be early December... hopefully it could be a nice Xmas for us??

By the way, let's not all call up the DNRC and hassle them about the info on their website!! That was said to be one of the main reasons it's taken so long for them to do their prelim grant of the permit, because UK-based PIs were constantly harassing them, and putting them off...

Isn't it a pity the DNRC don't do as the planning authority does, that is, look for objections before they issue a determination.

owenga, i think the yes simply means the application has been given a preliminary grant status. I don't think it means that objections have been received at all. In my notes on water, i have the objection period as 30 days, so im expecting an update probably 2nd week of november.

Clicking view to see the date of the objection is what I meant by drilling down. No saying it's updated regularly though.

NapharI think the date is when the objection has to be submitted by. If there is an objection then there is a "yes" next to it. You can then click on view and you get to see the date of the objection.

Nearly all the applications that have date to make objections by have actually received objections...Why do we think iof won't also get an objection?

if you drill down into the application from the link I posted earlier, there is an objections received cell which has a date entered if there are objections. No idea how timely they are in completing if though.

Do we have any way of knowing whether objections have been made to the water application during the 60 days, or is it simply an announcement by the DNRC at the close of the period?

When do we find out about the consultation period...? Is it 60 days?That's the thing about Iofina Kattatogaru, more good news could come at anytime. Anyone who has done their research on the company knows that. There are many things to look forward to now we have turned the corner, increased iodine production, mobile plants roll out, off take agreements, joint ventures when water application finally approved, further water applications, helium, oil....it's going to be a good year!So I guess it depends on your reasons for investing whether it matters that the share price drops a few pence in the meantime.

1.On an m-o-m basis, the company’s crystallized iodine production levels increased 18.6% to 28.0 mt from 23.6 mt in the previous month.

2.Year-to-date revenues stood at US$20m, up from the US$18.8m income for the 2013 fiscal.

3.The company maintained a production estimation of 325-350 mt of crystallized iodine for the year.

4.Separately, on 3rd October 2014, Iofina’s wholly owned subsidiary, Atlantis Water Solutions, received preliminary water permit by the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation of Montana.

5.Our view: The encouraging production update and the water permit from the Montana authorities are great accomplishments for Iofina.

6. Continued focus on the optimization of its plants and production enhancement has given the company a platform to build on its success and provide significant value addition to its shareholders.

The date will appear on the permit page in the right hand column, as soon as the bureau attach the preliminary determination to grant document.

Interesting that this MB seems to have lost all interest in the iodine volumes.
