Re Stupidboy Pike No.11707.

Definitely agree with Roundup & Che7win (fellow 'Meldexed investors', how did RT get away with it?). Now is a good time for a small investment. Superg1 and his merry men on this BB have this company well and truly defined by virtue of their excellent research. Read the board and you will add to that small investment, I am sure.

Strange entry in my NatWest online portfolio at close of business today.

IOF, closing price 174p an increase of 4p.
Obviously an error, (never seen one before), because if it was true it would have been an increase of 14p, not 4p. Most odd.

Yikes, SG, I was just about to get one! Thought: if one doesn't really need all the new bells & whistles, but fancy connectivity with my MacBooks, would picking up an iPhone 4 be a better idea?

SG: a few posts back you looked at IOF from the oil viewpoint 'if IOF was an oilie'.

Have a feeling that the oil acreage is worth something in the region of the current market cap, and that's without the bullish presentantion and additional facts that would accompany a separate listing.

As you continue to reveal/hint at the true water potential that is also very significant.

So looking at IOF this way round, the iodine's in for free :-)

Off the wall a bit this one, but it amuses me.

North Dakota have a summer months cloud seeding plan in place. The reason they want to do this is because, the geographic circs, and cloud conditions create hail storms in the summer, this causes major damage to crops in the area.

Seeding the clouds, helps creates rain drops rather than ice, but also increases the amount of rainfall.

It is a current matter being pursued in the ND area.

It makes me smile. Potentially more water filling the rivers, for those with rights to sell on, but then, the product used to achieve the extra water...
silver iodide. :-)

Some long termers may remember but if you go back many many months back, you will find posts about Hals water recycling division and how that won't take off due to costs. Cleanwave I believe it is called.

Some silly little small company that knew them, pointed out that the costs involved would create a barrier to entry into the water market, as fresh water, followed by disposal is a far cheaper option. There are even some examples of recycling costs of $60 pb plus on water. That's the extreme, but no-one really looked like they would get under around $3 pb. That doesn't include transport costs for water disposal.

Well as you can se in that report, the big guns thought it would be a big market, and once again this thread didn't, due to costs v fresh water. It didn't add up.

So it would seem the biggest guys in the service sector now think that is a non runner, so where next...... it seems pretty obvious to me.

Maybe some day others will see the value I see in water rights, The Atlantis prospect, the discharge permit, and the USFW rights swap deal. Slow burn maybe, but the first step is about to be taken re the award of that permit.

Oh that last paragraph content has aspects that make IOF unique in the water services world. Unless of course someone can show me, anyone else that can discharge produced water into rivers, and take it out elsewhere. Lawyers told IOF that to achieve that would be impossible mmmmm.

Anyone else in the area with a USFW rights swap deal. Those guys have 100,000 acre feet of rights, that can be upgraded to industrial use.

Only 11% of ND water is down as industrial rights. Much of the supply has been covered by temporary permits, allowing use of irrigation water (60% of all water rights). That temporary condition will be lifted over the coming months, and no irrigation water will be allowed to be used for industrial use. Correct applications will fill the void.

It a waters rights rule, irrigation water can not be downgraded for industrial use, but the water bureaus had to come up with a temporary measure to supply the oil industry.

I suspect in a year or two the full quota of water rights will be deemed allocated. What do oil companies turn to then, as the suggestion is 50,000 wells could be there in the coming years. They need reworking many times in their lifetime.

Not ignoring the fact of course that many companies are going back to an old idea called water flooding. Water flooding increases pressures forcing the oil out.

I have a feeling that George will have his finger on the pulse now. CF's leadership in the absence of Lance did a lot of damage, don't know how he felt the company could be run from his armchair in the UK and would guess 2 months without a helmsman is the delay that we are now experiencing. However, lessons that have been learned will hopefully be kicking in now.

The transition phase is over, let's see what George can do with the obvious backing of Jeff and Lance.

For share price see nashwan's post.

Thanks to Superg and JCS for informed, illuminating and well researched posts. I tire of some BBs that are trashed with puerile comment from some who apparently are trying to make a few bob!
For me the RSI and MACD are in line for a tick up very soon.

Isn't that the point jamonit, I think that George will be very focussed on the share price and even more focussed on production with half a million options under his belt.

SBP:- Do your own research of course, but there is good potential in this company over the next year or so. don't delay too long, we could have an announcement at any time. I have been fortunate to have bought some @ 60p on up to. £1.40. still I think there is plenty of growth left.I was taken for over 100 gran in Meldex through lies and deception. All the best for the future

11708, couldn't agree more. I only hope that they carry on shorting. Buying back 2m approx of shares in a few months time could be quite fun to watch.

Sorry, I've only just seen your post of late last night. As no one has 'contested' my maths I presume we're all comfortable with the figures, notwithstanding the 2 decimal places bit, so I'm working on the premise that they're about right.

The best case / worst case scenarios are just that. In truth I can't see how Ennismore could ever sell their borrowed shares for the highest price of a given day so all I've done is taken the absolutes and the truth is somewhere in the middle and probably on the downside. (There's also the question of did they sell back exactly on the day they borrowed or did they phase their sales over 2 days for example? Who knows)?

But in terms of their potential gains (and, of course, losses) I would think anywhere north of 190 would start to concentrate their minds. There's nearly 2m shares they need to buy back at some point. Which brings me to my comment to Lib of a negative spin on this morning's RNS.

It just seems of all the things they could / might have mentioned they chose only to highlight options, which in the scheme of things doesn't make much difference this side of the fence. Anyway, as far as the markets are concerned, it seems to have arrived like a damp squib. Perhaps they were just teasing Ennismore. If you put yourself in the same position as their analyst(s) I bet that every time they see an RNS flagged up from IOF they probably go to open it with an 'Oh no' state of mind whereas most of us here are expecting it to be good news and possibly a game changer.

I've also started doing a spread sheet on their Globo short* coz that's not going too well recently. I'm sure they must have weekly if not daily 'meets' to review matters - I'd love to be a fly on the wall.

*If anyone's interested I'll upload a link over the weekend.

Bag,

Nighthawk have drill results due out any day, the announcement of SE leaving could be delayed until after the results are announced so as not to spook the market.
