Something arrived in relation to 'equipment for iodine' in Texas (for Iofina). It came from the Ukraine.

On a ship called MSC SOCOTRA.

Rug can you track it on a map please, for the next voyage. I know you can do it :-)

It seems the last post relates to Cosayach. The prior world number 2 on a planned comeback which is falling apart.

Apparently the different names could be to do with the avoidance of creditors. ;-)

I would imagine the nay sayers from Ennis will now need to get busy with any old rubbish.

I'm so glad you guys kept going on about he iodine while I had my attentions elsewhere. It caused me to have another solid look at what is going on in Chile, mainly because claims by Chile mines about expansion, which imo must be BS as they can't afford to do that as their costs are so high.

As proven in posts mines have been abandoning expansion plans. Ennis need to get a better researcher.

I am sorry I have not replied to some of the comments on US-8591743 (post 11604), but I posted it just before leaving home. CK and Test have clarified most points in my absence, thank you.

CK, with regard to when it will be RNS'd. For comparison the last Iofina patent to be granted (US-8496815) was published on 30/07/13 and RNS'd on 02.08.13 i.e. thre working days later. On that basis we might expect an RNs on Friday, if the company consider this patent to be of sufficient import, given it is older technology.

No, as I understand it the WET Iosorb process uses blowout towers in which descending droplets of iodine rich brine are stripped by an ascending counter current of air, iodine is appreciably volatile and this process will be helped by elevated brine temperatures. The iodine/air vapour mix is then stripped of iodine in a separate process and the air recycled. A schematic of this process was provided in the documentation provided at the last two Iofina PI presentations. I have not seen any patent application covering this process as such, but the business model for wellhead extraction was protected in US-8496815. The use of blowout type technology for extraction of iodine is well established, but I presume Iofina have tweaked the chemistry and engineering to optimise the process yields and its environmental acceptability. Given the generic protection afforded by US-8496815 and their monopoly of licensing agreements with the well owners they may regard that and their own in house expertise as sufficient protection without the need to file a patent and reveal all to their competitors.
