27/5/2015 08:02 | interesting to see how low this goes | jbe81
27/5/2015 07:49 | One important Q - what else could another prudent management do. Not much - they are going by the book and I am happy as we will be rewarded by this attitude. | kaos3
27/5/2015 07:46 | Yeah, just need to wait for the price of iodine to go back up. With RB gone that will help. They still remain absolutely positive on the water, which is good. | 1madmarky
27/5/2015 07:44 | This is "legacy" result with improvements going strongly on. And that is important. The trend. New licences for iodine (3) is preparing for the market stabilisation. And doing nothing atm is sensible imo I expect a shorters attack and clever money accumulation at the same time | kaos3
27/5/2015 07:44 | It is clear that the current Iodine price has hit profitability much harder than pundits on this thread have been predicting. It is difficult to understand from these results what the BoD feel the break even point to be. What quantity production of raw iodine is needed and how much value add is predicted for the finished product range within their vertical integration at the current $30 price? | ridicule
27/5/2015 07:44 | Fest It takes all day to read. It looks like those impairment charges were the reason for the delay. $7m in the bank, and the declining iodine price clearly hit them but that should price situation is not sustainable, it's just a question of when the price turns. They said $7.5 mill in the bank at the end of Sept, so $500k down for Q4 It looks like they have some lucrative sites but development of those will be driven but the price of iodine or cash-flow etc it seems. Based on the circs as they stand, cash from a JV re water seems to be a driver for expansion. They fully expect to get the permit. One main twist that was always there but rarely mentioned is the discharge permit. They have clearly indicated potential developments on that front and mention it in conjunction with the water depot. Thinking on that any water they discharge belongs to IOF under storage rules. That can be used in Montana or ND. I'm curious what they are up too. I doubt they have mentioned it as there thought process and I guess that interest is from potential JV partners. | superg1
27/5/2015 07:42 | I've said it before, once iodine prices rise, we will then see the company produce significant cash. | che7win
27/5/2015 07:40 | The new management "cleaned the house" in full which is understandable. EBIT positive Q1 at low iodine prices, 6 mil in cash + water cash coming in if as expected provide financial stability. Management is into operations not into being "wizards". Markets for the iodine will go up. All in all I am happy. | kaos3
27/5/2015 07:38 | Looks like they are going to move io1, rather than just mothballing it.Have to say pretty disappointing update. Sounds like it is still looking for a jv partner for the water project.Continuing this, continuing that. Etc.. When is it going to make some decisions and start expanding! | owenga
27/5/2015 07:34 | Everyone is at the party. | monkeymagic3
27/5/2015 07:33 | another long term investment. | kaos3
27/5/2015 07:32 | So few comments. I suppose the shock is preventing folk from speaking! | festario
27/5/2015 07:23 | The sale of blinkers predicted to fall to all time low in 2015. | monkeymagic3
27/5/2015 07:07 | here we go ! leaking in the city btw on the surface not good results but for those who can understand it is good imho | kaos3
26/5/2015 22:09 | Nothing to suggest anything is wrong here as far as I can see. Simply a fact that we are all sick of waiting to be told that there is nothing wrong here! | woodpeckers
26/5/2015 19:08 | Number of shares traded today was lower than the daily average. Major indices all down >1%. | monty panesar
26/5/2015 18:11 | good point MM ! | spike_1
26/5/2015 17:12 | Leaky ship? the results for last year and have been known for at least two weeks subject to the IO 1 accountancy changes. So no leaks within iof. IMHO | 1madmarky
26/5/2015 16:45 | Fresh What's expected? As far as I can see, most think a small loss, poss break even the chance of a profit, as revenues for H2 are way up on revenues for H2 13, with cost cuts for H2 14 executed in April/May. I think a leak is unlikely, more like T trades betting today as results day, or the floods mentioned. Floods shut down oil wells as experienced in Colorado last year. If you look at Oklahoma news, and don't know the geography, it's an easy mistake. | superg1
26/5/2015 16:24 | bobby. Of course your point is absolutely valid; however, our main business is the exploration and production of iodine together with the chemical plant derivatives. This is our main core, and we should be able to grow the business without the water permit. | roundup
26/5/2015 16:21 | Just to note that a couple of my tips on this thread, TERN and VAST, seem to have broken out today on high volume...DYOR no advice intended... | cyberbub
26/5/2015 16:18 | From trades today looks as though the results will be out tomorrow and not as good as expected. (Leaky ship again) | freshvoice
26/5/2015 16:09 | Just curious as I've had a few questions on the topic. Did anyone sell today due to the massive floods in Texas and Oklahoma? OK is 460 miles E/W and 230 miles N/S. The floods are nowhere near where IOF operate which is in the NW of the state. | superg1
26/5/2015 16:08 | roundup, I agree that water is perceived by many (including IOF) as being non-core, but actually at this point in time it is very much in play because they will either get a substantial helping hand in the form of a JV or will have to shell out cash to develop it themselves, assuming of course they get the permit in the first place. Only when they know the state of play can the company commit to forward planning. That's only my view of course. | bobbyshilling |
