15/5/2015 08:44 | I haven't seen a lot in recent times re hot water fracs, but this was sent to me. I didn't know whether hot water would be used for slick water fracs Next-gen Water Heaters Hydraulic fracturing a well requires 2 million to 9 million gallons of water. Some fracking experts believe water temperature is also important and that heated water ensures a better crude extraction possibility. “Cold water mixing with hot crude in the ground makes a coagulation, whereas if you have hot water mixing with hot crude in the ground, it’ll increase the rate in which operators are able to pull out the crude,” says Dax Cornelius, CEO and managing partner of Torrid Technologies Group. As in the first paragraph the company mentions 2 mill to 9 mill gallons per well, that's 62k to 214k barrels of water which is indicative of slick water, high volume completions. | superg1

14/5/2015 11:05 | There is now a very clear divide at the top of UKIP. On one side there is Patrick O'Flynn, Douglas Carswell and another senior official who was prominent during the election campaign. On the other side is Nigel Farage, a tight circle of senior aides and the millionaire donor Arron Banks. -------------------- Right side of the trade again Banksy? | arlington chetwynd talbot
14/5/2015 10:55 | Madchick I have done that - only to pleased to help | patrich2
14/5/2015 10:30 | KR I'm not sure folks read that far. I thought Solomon King was good too. And the John Ames bit. "he's dealing with John Ames, one of our Nation's most prominent and able legal advocates, who's courtroom oratory and dexterity are the stuff of legend" Ames is the one the Bureau was had over by with his dodgy applications. I think that was a mistake by Danwaits, he meant farmer Giles Carlisle. "Ger'orff my land" | superg1
14/5/2015 10:24 | If you didn't get it from "Nike" Blackfoot. Shame on you. Very funny. | king_roster_iii
14/5/2015 10:17 | Potential Chile reform to give more power to unions. Employees fear going on strike as under Chile law the employer can simply employ others to replace them. Changes are being put forward to end that situation. | superg1
14/5/2015 10:11 | I think folks read a few lines but don't read on. Danwait's post We spoke with Mr. Ames who was busy at work in his family's water depot. Whilst filling a billy can for native American Nike Blackfoot, Mr. Ames said: "What most people don't realise is that this Iofina Company is English, and they want to take American water and sell it back to us, the whole thing is ridiculous". "John Ames has been a godsend to the Native American people" said Nike Blackfoot, "without his depot, we would have no water for the cisterns in our casino. Our women and children could've died of thirst" I thought it was good fun. | superg1
14/5/2015 09:53 | superg1, thank you for your 32516; yet another squall out of the way. Now we just wait a bit longer. | woolybanana
14/5/2015 08:22 | O/T It was ME day yesterday (so a friend tells me), so I should have done this then. I have several friends with ME, an illness that isn't even recognised a lot of the time. Please take just 2 minutes to sign a petition for the US to spend more on research into this. The petition targets US Congress and asks for an annual research budget equal to what MS -- a disease with a similar disability profile to ME -- gets per patient. Currently they get $250 per patient: ME gets $5. Hayfever gets more. Thank you! I don't have anything to say about IOF just now. I wonder what we'll be talking about in a month's time?? | madchick
14/5/2015 08:07 | wooly Rights to water is US wide under the same basic laws. Hence the laws are set along with the criteria. If you hit the criteria you get a permit, end of. Objections are not vetted by the bureau they are just deemed valid or not. As pointed out, in theory if they supported Carlisle that would mean every farmer in the area would have to buy their water from Carlisle until his allocation is used up. Only then could they apply for a permit. That of course is never going to happen. It's like saying you can't have an extension because the guy next door used up the allocation for your street, and until he knocks it down you are restricted to renting part of it, if he lets you. | superg1
14/5/2015 07:49 | Short term opportunity on Orm. 34m shares placed yesterday, looks like institution exiting(yet to be confirmed by rns)could see share price bounce from here. Egm on the 19th for an unpopular finance deal and Almonty with a bid in at 4p, but could be looking to increase it. Interesting couple of days. DYOR | jbe81
14/5/2015 07:27 | In Britain, planning type decisions are made by politicians (local and/or national). Environmental permitting type decisions are also made officially by politicians, but there tends to be a lot less interference in the administrators' technical decisions. Ultimately of course all politicians' decisions can be challenged in the courts. | cyberbub
13/5/2015 22:02 | Can elected politicians overrule the water decision? I always thought Ames might play the 'race' card, so to speak. | woolybanana |
