31/3/2015 11:26 | Roundup LOL... not me! But someone seems to have sold 2 x 100k? There must be a buyer for them to have got those away... unless it was a sneaky rollover with the spread paid as a separate fee, which the MMs sometimes allow, to disguise rollies... | cyberbub
31/3/2015 11:23 | Blimey SG, if anyone on here accused IOF board members of lying there would be emails to the company pushing for legal action against them. Hope it isn't endemic in the industry! | uppompeii
31/3/2015 11:17 | Thanks Od The difference now is that SQM (regardless of their chaos) don't want to give anything away and keep control the price. The lie in the new CEO interview said it all for me. As said, to attach the iodine price rise hike in 2011 due to demand for anti-radiation tablets is just plain ridiculous and an obvious lie. He knew that was false. I thought they were in some ways price fixing on the highs and now that seems set in stone. They made out there was a huge shortage but they had a large inventory and then sold it at a premium. They knew Cosayach and RB had none as Cosayach had all their wells closed Once their inventory was gone, they spouted over-supply and extra production in the market, but the truth is RB and Cosayach had inventory, so SQM took the price down to screw them over. SQM as you know have recently misled the market suggesting they are producing more than in 2013 but the opposite is true. The iodine radiation demand increase was the final piece to confirm the lies. 1 tonne of iodine covers about 10 million potassium iodide tablets for daily dosage, but you can only take them for a short time. 100 tonnes therefore covers 1 billion tablets. Sqm's 2500 mt inventory at the time would have covered 25 billion tablets. Japan issued then for something like a 20 mile radius near the event. So the high price was a bit of a false market and so is the low price, all engineered by SQM. It's now set for higher prices for the many reasons stated, but SQM first wanted to strangle the cash flow of others and send some into loss making. They had T/O plans for Cosayach, I have no doubt about that. What they will do now with all their troubles is guesswork. I think taking the iodine price lower is probably off the table as the large backers will abandon them. Not forgetting of course that 3000 mt of their production is offline currently due to that rain. As Algorta and RB operate in the same area it seems reasonable to forecast that they are probably offline too (4000mt total) The India market doesn't help us much as the customs arrivals are 2/3 weeks behind the current circs. It will take until late April to see if that site shows any price impact. I am still curious to know if it has reduced the ppm of their resources by leaching iodine out of the Caliche. They have never had rain like it in iodine mining history. Even if it hasn't, SQM can say it has and use it as an excuse to up the price. | superg1

31/3/2015 10:40 | Interestingly I can sell 100k shares in one go, at full 31p bid.... | cyberbub
31/3/2015 08:34 | The bit I forgot to mention is that I hear a fund over the pond has been soaking up sells so the 19.5 breach is unlikely and they should be around for some time on the bid. DYOR | superg1
31/3/2015 08:09 | Cloudbuy Just passing on the info as I started the interest on that one here when it was ATUK. I have been looking recently and now like the look of where they are, it seems they will see revenue growth through 2015 and Westhouse have them on £17 mill revenue in 2017 with a £1 price target. They have said this is a conservative target. The finance vehicle used a while back for around 2 million shares has a clause of a margin call at 19.5p. What the hope of those who provided the finance is that the CEO will have to hand over the shares. BUT it seems the finance company sold the shares about that price trying to drive the price down to 19.5p. IE they make a quick profit by doing that. The trouble is on the flip side they deal says they can all be bought back at something like 27.5p. So if they aren't careful, and strong price move comes/funds buying on the back of the note. The the finance company will have to scramble to buy the 2 million shares back before 27.5p or they will make a loss. So one to watch imo for moves. EDIT I think the finance company were hoping known results would drive the price below 19.5p. Those results were yesterday and it didn't happen. Just prior to that the company released two good bits of news. The note says there is more good news on the way. | superg1

30/3/2015 23:20 | What a ridiculous statement for the new SQM CEO in an interview, the iodine price spike comment. The price of potash fertiliser increased ten-fold on the back of a global resurgence in demand, especially from China, while iodine’s price spiked after Japan’s Fukushima Disaster owing to its use in radiation emergencies. We all know that type of medication for millions of doses of tablets amounts to 10's of tonnes and SQM had about 2,500 mt of inventory at the time. The price hike came as some Japan product went offline at the same time as Cosayach dropped 4000 mt of production due to be prosecuted. Great start for the first interview with a blatant lie. | superg1
30/3/2015 23:10 | It was good fresh it identified how many jittery investors there are out there. Most of those are probably just in for water news anyway and will be out in a flash once the result is known. It's all a learning curve to keep any seriously good finds on any shares under wraps, as the herd just pile in randomly and cause chaos for the share price and any BB. | superg1

30/3/2015 18:35 | Neddo Hopefully before long I can post a one liner that says, "Nice to see the permit has been awarded, now we can move on" Even better if that is said before any rns. | superg1
30/3/2015 18:29 | Neddo It's a daft system, only blues can vote down. ADVFN obviously think such an 'advantage' may be a carrot to encourage people to pay for subscription. They have also tried to block links posted by non subscribers, but obviously there are ways around that. I use the vote up occasionally when someone has found something of interest | superg1
