It seems RM want to be consulted on every little thing that happens in the business which is what is holding it back. Where shall we put the Pot Plant, Shall we have Blinds or Curtains - It's just plain daft!
There's obvious cost savings allover the place in that Company.

At a guess, I think that Liberium had no idea that PF + RM were to merge and only considered the numbers for RM and not broken it down into context, as you kindly have.

There appears to be alot of Posties taking 'Sickies' which has impacted the service making it more erratic.
Most still think they're at School! I always worked in the Private Sector and if you took too many sickies the other staff would get wrankled about it and you would soon be out the Door, unless you were in Hospital!

The succubus spongers have had a negative impact on the business for years. I think offloading or IPOing both parts of the business that are difficult to separate would be a very good move for IDS.

Liberium have had a sell rating on this forever. Price went to 120p and 600p - I suppose it's like a Clock, they'll get it right once in a day!

Investment banks downgraded IDS with sell & lower price target 135p or below & upgraded HVO with buy https://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/1013054/royal-mail-deal-leaves-as-many-questions-as-answers-1013054.html

I'd hazard a guess that IDS are confident that they can offload RM + PF as a package. If the posters vote against the deal.

That should help if they can get it in without too many headaches.

Yes divis were paid. It was a bit of a con though. Those leaving the business even a week before got paid out, then suddenly on the maturity date they were worthless. I'm not sure employees will end up with anything this time around. Management can spend a bit extra to keep profits low if they choose to. Looks good on paper but a bit pointless. Some of the other parts of the deal are good for the business though.

encarter,

Thanks for that. Before my time with Royal Mail. I think most employees were given 900 shares each when full privatisation came but I don't actually know anyone who still has them.

Ok I found it.

From 2011. They did get some money from the scheme.

encarter,

"they remember how they were scammed with the phantom shares."

I'm afraid that one escaped me. Got a link or more details?

Employees have long memories, they remember how they were scammed with the phantom shares. Being offered a possible bonus if the company make a profit won't make a single person work any harder. The new sick policy looks interesting though, with the potential of saving RM some money in sick pay.

But RM will no doubt want to pay them in shares, printing your own money is cheaper than actual coin of the realm.

Perhaps amongst all the other pc courses they arrange for the workforce, the company might also teach the workers about how profits, and hence job security are actually achieved?

Then they only have themselves to blame! lol

The weakness of employee share schemes issued in the hope that employees would embrace efficiency and profitabily is obvious.

It failed because they bought cheaply and quickly sold at a profit.

This deal is different, they always have skin in the game, linked to profit.

That's what it says, so worthless to employees.

I assume the profit is for RMG only not the whole group.
