Bill...you have to have bought the IAG shares to be entitled to the rights. So you need to add the cost of those shares to the 88p cost of the new shares and then average.

Hello again space.......Is it not simply the case that using your rights issue you well get shares at some 84/88p while on the market they will cost you say 113P so really no choice? (Today!)
Of course at anything below say 88p .....don't take them up? I assume you don't think 60p soon?

NB I am using 88p as that is what computershare are charging!

There will still be posters on here criticising the staff cuts and salary reductions that are taking place nowNot sure if has sunk through that IAG is in survival mode rather than "just taking advantage of situation"Mind boggles

What has happened here is stunning. The epitome of why Legacy is worst place in a thin next to no volume environment. It seems, EZJ, JET2 and others were quick to get their financing sorted months ago ahead of the quiet winter season. Not to mention LCC model ala RYA, EZJ have a cost base built to withstand this kind of pressure alot better than legacy. Which brings me to my next point.......

............IAG have been utterly dithering here. As the fattest bloke in the room, they should have been tightening the belt when it looked like a famine maybe on the horizon. They have since acted, but way way too slow and too late - they are suffering withdrawal as the famine takes hold and they have run out of snacks.

The equity damage will take years to undo.

@scoble2 if you are considering it from the perspective of having received the rights through being a shareholder, then you need to consider the value per share you lost when the share price was adjusted for the rights issue (down from £1.90 or whatever it was to £1.30).

As a general observation, there is unlikely to be any difference between buying the shares in the open market and exercising your rights. You just need to decide if you want to invest more cash in IAG, and whether you expect to make a return on that investment.

If thats what you believe knock yourself out.

Can you do the ssme math when IAg share price is 60p???

People are statting to believe 60p now which looked impossible when share price was over 200p.

Is it correct:-
Say you have 1000 IAG shares, you are given 1000 CDL Rights.
So every 2 rights entitle you 3 new CDL at a price of EUR 0.92(.84P)
So you have now 1500 new CDL, to buy 1500 CDL cost you 1500x 0.92= 1380 EUR = £1258

So now IAG shares is £1.16, if you want to buy the same amount of shares cost you 1500x 1.16 = £1740.

The offer cost you = £1258
If you buy same amount share now cost you = £1740
I think taking the rights is better.

Any rises in sp,s in airline groups in my view from now on will be solely manipulation,if there is any positives at all for aviation I would like to read a convincing story.
