When do we have to pay for the rights issue shares? I'm no expert, but I will have to raise funds to pay for them.

Why are the rights (IAGN) trading at about 73p (they were 84p earlier). That seems too high.

Doesn't it cost €0.92 (about 85p) to exercise the rights to fully paid IAG shares (which are currently trading at about 134p)? What am I missing?

For every 2 IAG shares held at close on Friday don't you now own an additional 3 IAGN shares?

At 73p per IAGN that's a value of 109.5p per IAG held at close on Friday. Too much?

Edit 12:14. I am wrong about above. This is not our usual UK rights procedure. So for every IAG held at close on Friday I think you own an additional one IAGN share. You need 1.5 IAGN shares to apply for one new IAG share at €0.92. Hence IAGN is worth 1.5 * (IAG - €0.92). That's my thinking for now anyway!

If you've bought through a broker, check your messages on their website.

Depends on broker I think. My holding with HL gives me the option - got to vote on my preferred option for rights the other week and I think this week get the choice to take them up or not.But my holding on another platform hasn't given me any of that - in fact when I asked them if I can have my rights options etc they said they don't support it currently. Bit annoyed as they have half my holding in IAG!

buywell is of the opinion that if things continue in a negative way re Covid-19 cases and another country does a National Lockdown in addition to Israel in the next 2 weeks then IAG might see 116p

imo dyor

Remember, you can always sell your rights nil paid (IAGN). You don't have to take them up before selling.

Thanks to all for making helpful suggestions.
Perhaps the opening price tomorrow will give a good indication of the way things are going?

For every 2 shares held entitles one to 2 subscription rights which entitles one to buy 3 new shares at 92 Euro cents per new share.

Therefore DF is correct in saying the cost of 15,000 new shares is 15,000 x 88p.

One does not pay for the 2 subscription rights but pays for the 3 new shares.

The cost of 15000 new shares is .88 X 10000.For every 2 rights you get 3 shares.

I think the maths is .. if you hold 10,000 shares.

10,000 x 200p = £20,000

Your rights cost 88p (?) x 15,000 entitlement = £13,200

Total cost of 25,000 IAG shares = £33,200

So your average is now 132.8p & you own 25,000 shares ..

If the share price is 140p after the rights then sell 10,000 = £14,000 & you are left
with 15,000 IAG X 140p = shares valued at £21,000

Does that make sense ?
