02/1/2024 09:14 | It's reassuring the company are spending billions on future investment as such a strong indication of a companies confidence. With the inflation rate reducing the company future strategy will look rosier as they would be planning on inflation staying high. Debt is debt and they will pay a percentage off after each quarter I suspect. The key indicator is is this company back making profits and do they look good to continue that into the future. The answer is a resounding YES. With good profits the noise is largely irrelevant as will be fealty with. Great investment opportunity here | 1spitfire
01/1/2024 12:11 | IAG are overweight on debt and have a declared interest in TAP . Upcoming quarter results should be good but as ee all know its the forward guidance that count . BA have stated they would spend Billions on IT and other costs will not have gone down due to inflation. My hope will be with excess profits last quarter they will reduce debt rather than pay dividend. I suspect they'll pay down the debt as they are smart individuals. | whatsup32
01/1/2024 12:04 | Well done with MNG and hopefully Av. Economic crises will start to bite and first thing of list will be holidays and other non essentials. Virgin have been advertising like crazy in the Times probably a few pages a day . Ticket prices have not gone up and with inflation its arguable that in fact it has gone down. Bums on seats count and AA results on the 18th will be guidance. Others will disagree. If I had to invest in airlines it would be Jet2. I don't hold IAG or Jet2 | whatsup32
31/12/2023 23:52 | I sold at a slight loss. I've made that loss up with MNG. I'm an income investor, so I waited long enough. I will be back, but they lack a plan, TAP etc, and IIs can see this.I will continue to trade. It's a reliable source of income! | rongetsrich
31/12/2023 21:25 | American Airlines results Jan 18 (to be confirmed). It will be a good guide to IAG as they are also partner airlines | whatsup32
31/12/2023 19:04 | Cant read the negativity on a stock over 50 per cent up over the last 12 months. We need to get real. This is a recovery stock after covid and is fabulous value compared to where it will be in a year or two... Ticket prices always discounted this time of year. Standard business strategy. Id advise against comparing to other airlines and other markets. It's as crazy as looking at Norwegian before they went bust and saying the industry is struggling. Highly competitive . Happy IAG is a big business and in excellent shape.... More aircraft more investment all great signs | 1spitfire
30/12/2023 12:08 | FT. " Rate of airfares increases slowly in 2023" In fact airfare increase are below inflation. I would argue worse is to come as more new aircraft are delivered to airlines. This will have a double kick in the teeth as costs will continue to rise due to agreed contracts with Pilots and crew while fares drop. Those holding IAG should keep an eye on US airline results. | whatsup32
24/12/2023 10:50 | 4 x earnings. Wowza. Maybe there is a hope of a return to 300p in the latter half of this decade. If I was brave, I'd average down but such a high risk sector so i'll stick. | chiefbrody
21/12/2023 00:09 | This tip has not gone to plan but it will come good in the end. Keep buying Questor share tip: the company’s improving financial position means it remains a worthwhile purchase | philanderer
20/12/2023 14:17 | Just to add to my comment above , ticket I bought with Virgin about 10 days ago is now 8% lower. I can only assume tickets are not selling and they are having to discount. Edit . Just got a. Message from BA of Sale. It’s on their site now | whatsup32
18/12/2023 10:41 | Just checked with Virgin ticket I bought a week ago has been discounted bt £20 like for like. While £20 is insignificant amount on a ticket costing c£1k I had noticed price hasn't changed much over previous month. I think people are not willing to pay higher prices and prices have gone up as far as they can . Next step will be prices coming down but not the inherited costs of wages , maintenance etc. | whatsup32
18/12/2023 09:25 | Great trip Ron. Never done San Diego but heard v nice. Been fortunate to have seen most other areas on the states. While In Vegas dare you to do the stratosphere rides. I stayed in the viewing gallery with the kids. Hearing the Sphere where U2 were playing is also worth a look. Have a great time | 1spitfire
17/12/2023 20:49 | Mrs wants to go East next, may question you on your trip to Vietnam. :) | whatsup32
17/12/2023 20:22 | During lockdown I bought and sold RR multiple times to scratch the itch.RR are the UK provider for SSN and SSBN vessels, they know small nuclear like nobody else.I'm not sure if their rise is down to that PSR orders being less muddy, or engine maintenance.Trip not planned to nth degree, so may well take your advice. The deal is we turn left, we do 2 nights Vegas and we Mustang the road trip. The Vietnamese trip that year is the 'chill' holiday. | rongetsrich
17/12/2023 19:15 | Going from LAX to Sin city to Scottsdale to LAX . 7 day visit There is a nice Aviation museum in Salt Lake City if you’re interested. Not looking at anything in particular . Kicking myself for not buying RR at a quid and kicking myself for buying Turkish Airlines at 25.25TL selling at 26.00 and watching it rice to 250.00 within weeks of my selling. Aggggh I’m expecting good things from Av , I hope AB delivers I believe she will | whatsup32
17/12/2023 18:41 | Never done LA, it's on the list, into Vegas- LA-San Diego for some military tourism and then back to Vegas. 2025, real retirement! Aviva is running nicely at the moment, are you viewing others? | rongetsrich
17/12/2023 15:37 | As someone who was part of £21m implementation team for Financial systems around 2000 onwards. £7billion is a staggering figure and can't believe this figure is correct. | n13518
17/12/2023 13:16 | FT. Oleary on track to earn €100m bonus | whatsup32
17/12/2023 12:48 | Just bought ticket to LAX premium . Price with Virgin- BA nearly same with same equipment A350 and B787s . I bought Virgin ticket . Why? Better service , better experience, better site but what sticks in my gullet is after choosing to purchase a ticket with BA you also need to pay to choose your seat 50 smackers. Not so with Virgin. Worlds favourite my r's | whatsup32
17/12/2023 12:29 | M1 . It's self financed IAG already own 25%? , money Air Europa owe IAG can be turned to shares and balance to buy AE can be paid over some years through earnings. | whatsup32
17/12/2023 12:02 | whatsup.....possibly , although I don't think it has been confirmed anywhere ? In any event, the aquisition will increase debt . | m1k3y1
17/12/2023 11:15 | Air Europa to my mind is Self financed . | whatsup32
16/12/2023 16:30 | whatsup........agree After all, they are buying Air Europa , they want to buy TAP, they need 7 Billion for IT, oh and they want to reduce debt and reinstate Dividends ........where is it all coming from ? | m1k3y1
16/12/2023 13:51 | M1 , that is a very reasonable question. Given the short time frame of implementation should have been stated. BA do not have good track record with IT , hopefully this time they can prove us wrong | whatsup32 |
