There are about 25,000 passenger planes on earth. Is the big news that the distant planet Flyngon has just offered to buy 10,000 of them at 100% of earth book value? If not, IAG is still bust imho.

Sunak was Chief Secretary at the Treasury immediately before becoming Chancellor. He ia very astute money wise and politically aware government minister: whom I firmly believe will become PM when Boris stands down.

962962,

I know where you coming form.

BA always paid pay rises plus bonus if Co made a decent profit..

IAG bonus' are totally different.Someone on 50k gets minimum 5k bonus..so minimum 10% ..unheard of before IAG contracts came about.

Unless you are management, in which case you bonus was or will be calculated differently and invariably with a greater return.

I never understood why managers or even the BoD should receive a greater bonus than other employees given that everyone is contributing to the success of the business.

Frankly, BA has always been the major contributor to the IAG coffers and I suspect could have done just as well, if not better by not being part of the IAG group.

Jailbird.Lets get this right. It wont be a lot of ba contract staff not getting 10-20% Bonus it will be in excess of 95%+.I did 44yrs service.Started as BEA a few years before the merger. Now i will tell you how the staff bonus (subject to profit works)
BA put a minimum profit in place.Above that figure all/100% of staff get a bonus. That bonus goes up in stages, the more profit above the threshold the bigger the bonus, and it is assessed as weeks pay. This has been in the past anything up to of 5/6 weeks pay but could be less.
The problem that there has always been,is it is YOUR weeks pay,so a highly paid pilot will receive more than a lowly paid ramp worker, but everybody gets something. As a point.probably 20yrs or so ago, somebody came up with the idea that the system should be changed and a total pot should be thrown into the ring, and equally divided between the total number of staff,so everybody got the same ammount.Well suprisingly that went down like a lead balloon, and no prizes for guessing who were very much against it.Now those are the facts, not guesswork, not "I've heard from" and not a fairy story, the facts.

Cruz will not have autonomy regarding this situation, although it appears that the IAG PR machine is working to try and deflect the attention from Walsh.

The costs of this redundancy , new contract implementation will have to have been approved by the BoD of IAG, although the operation and implementation of it will be down to Cruz.

962962,

agree with your last comment

Cruz ran the shambles of an alriline Vuelling..one of the poorest service airlines

He has no respect amongst BA employees
