Stupid use of interest rate cut, they won't have it in the locker when they really need it now.

Yep, I believe I read somewhere that airlines are being affected by the virus.

rate cut may help on how many companies default but it is the supply chain that is being affected.no supply,no business.the big question is how long for?i will not be surprise to see the D0w down 600 or more by close.

Interesting a had to contact BA about my flight next week, advanced booking seats, she said plane half empty, so do it 24 hours before its free, try and get through to helpline very busy, I said to guy are customers cancelling he said yes.
This must be hitting airlines bigtime.

Yep - Fed cuts benchmark rate 50 BPS.

US markets swing from negative to 1.3% up in an instant.

Looks positive.

Hamham, not true. It spread plenty; people still thought it was game over if you caught it but ARVs were adapted developed in record time to combat it. Much research has been done into it since to prevent a repeated occurrence in the future.

If you think NCov spreads quickly, you want to see what it does to a Tropical African village without the knowledge of the importance of control.

This situation has been blown out of all proportion by western media outlets trying to sell panic.

Nobody can seriously call a bottom until covid has peaked in the west. It isn't clever pointing that out. Any idiot can see it. That said the clever response is to gradually increase your holding. This is a temporal problem. IAG will return to normal operation and even with reduced revenue it will rise like a beach ball held underwater as investors calculate the outlook sans covid.

It's a shame on the dividend you lose 19% in Spanish withholding tax and can't claim it back.

Ebola didn't spread, it killed most all that got it 70% and quite rapid, so didn't have time to pass on in the main.
This is very different, cannot necessarily tell if someone has it for a couple of weeks whilst they infectious.
It will be 3-6 months before this peaks IMO.

This is bear closing taking profits, I expect below 400p by the end of the week, if Coronavirus news gets worse.

Sr2Day, you have too little faith in the ability of humans to logically deal with situations like this. I was involved in the repatriation of Westerners with Ebola. Western health services compared to rest of world are top notch.

If this becomes a full blown global pandemic, just wait and see the WHO dispense with drugs testing rules. Humans will adapt and overcome. If it was as lethal as SARS with a long dormancy period, I would agree. Too much negeativity and unless this triggers a depression, there is a lot of oversold stock out there.

airlines and miners will suffer the most until corona is dealt with.nothing suggest it is at the moment.so expect further falls.

Be interesting to see if its bear closing, taking profits, then new positions put on tomorrow, or real buying.

Sure, do what you want to do with your money but saying to others this is a once in a decade buying op is a bit precarious IMO.
When was the last recession?

Personally I do not fear the future, we just maybe go through a rough patch but everything always works out over time, markets always recover and rise, but they go up and down in the short term.
There's a great saying..
Don't do something, just sit there.

NY boy, I get accused of depressing the share price with posting facts here, you are doing the opposite.
The truth is this is really early in the global outbreak, you cannot say that authorities are on top of it, it's quite the opposite really. I guess by your change of heart from 300p odd target yesterday morning to now gazillion pence, you invested yesterday afternoon?
Nothing has improved news wise regarding coronavirus it's just you now are invested. Eg See the outbreaks in Washington state, is that good news?

However, I agree with your right to post your point of view here, as all have a right.
