12 weeks ago this virus appeared

6 weeks ago we ALL witnessed China.

Today we have the virus worldwide

In six weeks time we will have a massive amount of dead bodies to deal with (;A larger issue than the deaths)

The world has drastically changed and yet 99.9999% of those on earth can’t see it yet

Little bit of perspective for those waiting for The Apocalypse:-

The common flu causes up to 5 million cases of severe illness worldwide and kills up to 650,000 people every year, according to the World Health Organization.

The virus seems to have a 3 percent mortality rate. However, this could be an overestimate since there may be a far larger pool of people who have been infected by the virus but who have not suffered severe enough symptoms to attend hospital and so have not been counted in the data.

The common flu does not grab the headlines. But attach a foreign name to a virus – such as Ebola, Zika and Wuhan – and then the headlines flow.

Keep smiling.

On the corporate front, British Airways-owner IAG declined to provide financial guidance, telling shareholders that due to the "ongoing uncertainty on the potential impact and duration of COVID-19, it is not possible to give accurate profit guidance for FY 2020 at this stage."

Even if it was all resolved today, the knock on for supply chains is already in the system, several months to manufacture and supply products, parts or.materials to catch up.
That will have am effect on p&l s

Of course IAG can't give any guidance for the coming year, I reckon could see full year earnings virtually wiped out, unless this Coronavirus eases.

We are only 1 week into the markets coming to terms with the potential knock on effects of coronavirus.
There will be up days and down days driven by news, but more of the down days than up IMO.

At some point there will be some life changing buying opportunities across oil and airlines. No way can this go bust. If IAG go bust every other airline in world would. Can see lower - only 6 months since these were low 400p so no reason not to revisit this level.Any news of a vaccine or if cases start slowing down outside of China and we could have a huge and quick correction

Ask yourself pink. Are you doing it for the good of society or hoping to push the pt9ce up and make you a profit?
Do you feel lucky?

This is going sub 400p... I got out last week but if it gets close to 300p will sure consider re-entry if the situation is not quite chaotic as now. Airlines will have worst year for decades if this continues another month or two

1NHS ... horseman of the apocalypse. Only he's riding a donkey. Yes it's serious but get a grip. SARS had a higher, much higher mortality rate and we didn't have all this fuss. Markets to fall further which just offers great opportunities to us. We either recover, in which case great, I'll make some cash. Or we don't recover from it, in which case I don't care because we'll all be gone anyway. Simple. You're in a can't lose situation!

IAG is resilient with a strong balance sheet and substantial cash liquidity to withstand the current weakness. We have a management team experienced in similar situations and have demonstrated that we can respond quickly to changing market conditions. We are strongly positioned for the expected recovery in demand

Utter rubbish

This is going bust

The world has changed

Things are moving so fast

IAG says it is poised to cut short-haul flights on its European routes, while the budget airline is to introduce a pay freeze as part of a cost-cutting drive.Extract from sky news
