30/5/2007 08:50 | Is agm to day | friars3
30/5/2007 04:46 | Morning all! Always held faith and esteem on this plc and waiting for the three months to pass by (as suggested by TCM) since buying in. Missed topping up opportunities along the way while being away from UK. I guess the next stop would be in the 70-80p range. Thanks all for your marvelous contribution. | ppowerscourt
25/5/2007 13:57 | Don't you just love this share - the price is up 12% today and there's virtually no posts here whatsoever - still off most peoples radar I guess. Imagine what would happen if there was some more widespread interest! The price has now well and truly gone through February's previous high, and we could see more rises before next week's AGM. | thecurrymonster
25/5/2007 12:11 | Is the chart breaking through today? | superhero si
25/5/2007 12:08 | This is going to rocket by end of year | friars3
25/5/2007 10:53 | nice rise today, with a few chunky trades including a 25k M trade. AGM next week, and it's looking like it's all good news at the moment. | thecurrymonster
24/5/2007 17:20 | Interesting trading - somebody bought 34k at 1p over the offer price this morning - the price has also ticked up this afternoon, with no trades, so it looks like there's a bigger order being worked and the MMs aren't holding much stock. | thecurrymonster
23/5/2007 13:33 | CP - thank you for the continuing flow of info.... | unionhall
23/5/2007 13:31 | unionhall, Regarding the price - I have not seen any definite figures from MED - perhaps somebody can find out at the AGM (I'm not sure whether I will be able to make it). However, the best I do have is from this article: It is currently setting up a new production line in Dresden, which will provide the company with enough capacity for £50m in annual sales Elsewhere the figures for the Dresden facility all quote a capacity of 10m units. For example: ....once fully ramped, the Dresden facility will have the capability to produce 10 million microdisplays per annum. Therefore it would seem that £5 per unit would be about right. | thecurrymonster
23/5/2007 13:18 | This is an interesting brochure - I can't actually find a link to it on MEDs site, but it's there nevertheless: The photograph of the cyclist on page 4 is courtesy of Rodenstock as mentioned in Today's Electronics Weekly article. Perhaps this will be the first product to use MEDs technology? | thecurrymonster
23/5/2007 13:15 | ...anybody have a supportd view of the sale price of each unit ? | unionhall
23/5/2007 13:08 | New article in Electronics Weekly today: MicroEmissive Displays (MED) is looking to increase the number of applications it can address for its near-to-eye microdisplay technology. "Our displays are sufficiently low-powered to be plugged into a mobile phone," Ian Underwood, CTO of MED, told EW. The displays draw 50mW. MED is now in sample production and says it will be in volume production in July. Asked what volume means, Underwood replied that the company's Dresden factory is capable of doing 10 million units a year, but will not say how soon that figure could be achieved, given sufficient orders. At the moment the target market is for viewfinders in video cameras and the like, and headsets which can be plugged into portable equipment like MP3 players and mobile phones. A neat application for the MED display, incorporated by Rodenstock of Germany is to put a display in the corner of one of the lenses of a pair of sports glasses, so that an athlete can receive data on things like his or her heart-rate....... | thecurrymonster
23/5/2007 08:00 | MicroEmissive Displays will be demonstrating the advantages of its advanced polymer OLED microdisplay technology on the CDT stand, booth 1020, at SID 2007. Demonstration kits for its production eyescreen™ products will show how the devices can be readily incorporated into wearable head-sets for personal TV and video viewing and electronic viewfinders for digital cameras, camcorders and night vision systems. The demo kits feature a series of video clips to showcase the superior image quality of MED's P-OLED technology, its vivid colours and high contrast ratio, and motion video that is free from blur and flicker. Headsets using eyescreen™ devices benefit further from the products' digital interface and low power consumption leading to greatly extended battery life. The eyescreen™ ME3204 is the first device to be manufactured at MED's new production facility in Dresden, Germany. The new line is fully automated and capable of making commercial volumes of displays - up to ten million units per annum once fully ramped. MED's Professor Ian Underwood said: "Our technology has been talked and written about a great deal, and has won wide recognition in several independent awards. The buzz is getting louder now that its benefits are starting to be seen in real mass-market products of the future. We now have the production capacity to meet this growing demand and our demo kits will spread the word even more widely amongst product design engineers looking for a fast, robust design-in solution for smaller, lighter-weight, stylish products." ........ | thecurrymonster
22/5/2007 11:52 | Who's going to own up to buying the 16 shares then? Somebody just after a ticket to the next week's AGM perhaps? | thecurrymonster
21/5/2007 10:48 | AMVESCAP are in for another 350,000 shares too. | thecurrymonster
18/5/2007 16:39 | AXA have increased by 150,000 And Barnard Nominees has a holding of 2,150,462 - 4.93% of the company. That's a new name to me. Confidence seems to be building now. | thecurrymonster
16/5/2007 12:40 | Actually, I was wrong, they are not new holders, but it's a newly notifiable holding: According to page 12, last year they held 143,333 shares in MED. This plus 3i's stake takes them to approximately where they are now. | thecurrymonster
16/5/2007 12:01 | Saracen are new shareholders as far as I am aware. Saracen is a growth fund, with a pretty good track record, so let's hope they've made a good job of their due-diligence and picked another winner here. | thecurrymonster
16/5/2007 11:43 | Looks like it: | naeclue
16/5/2007 11:14 | Re today's announcement - am I right in thinking Saracen are new shareholdes? | tuffbet
16/5/2007 10:56 | There they are CM | wild bill
15/5/2007 23:20 | Well it seems I was particulalry unobservant on the 14th. The guy over on iii was absolutely correct. A single trade of 2,246,795 shares went through, which exactly matches 3i's stake, so it does indeed look like they are out of the picture now. I wonder where the RNS is? | thecurrymonster
15/5/2007 18:24 | Somebody has posted on iii today saying that 3i are now out of the picture. In february, they still held more than 2.2m shares (>5% of the company). Did I miss an RNS? | thecurrymonster |
