I don’t see the point in complaining. If you’ve got some, then you’re going to do well from here. Aren’t you?

Or was it no more than a short term gamble?

Now testing 2013 support levels. Not pretty, but if you hold purely for the income, then this fall should not worry unduly. spud

LSE is becoming more and more a casino for hedge funds and charlatans.

Forget investing. It doesn't happen anymore.

The market is in thrall to analysts, as evidenced by the whip-sawing every time an up/downgrade is issued.
And their up/downgrades always follow the direction of the share price - afterwards.

4 weeks ago the share price was in the 2500s.

Yes they are. however that is still a very large chunk of debt.
Yet they keep increasing the dividend by 10%.
The market is not buying the strategy.

re debt -as they state:-

"Adjusted net debt increased £0.3bn (12-month basis) reflecting working capital timing; reported net debt up £0.4bn

On track to deliver further deleverage at the full year"

ie they are forecasting lower debt at year end even after payment of dividends.

Fixed charge cover is good.
Gearing has been much higher in previous years.
Lease commitments not as high as a few years ago.
Gearing can be relatively high anyway because of stable revenues.

Just needs watching. EI was right to raise the concern though.
