17/11/2019 19:00 | Ilika are focusing on developing solid state batteries. That in itself is good news. They obviously believe they have good tech. As I keep on saying. All we need is proof of concept and then a prototype. The market will then massively re-rate IKA. | a.fewbob
17/11/2019 18:54 | They have niche application at the moment. I guess that is why they are focusing on wind turbine, medical applications etc. The kind of applications which still have high volume but where the extra cost is insignificant compared to the benefits. If they have batteries that are of use to the consumer market and at the right price point by 2025 I will be very very happy!! The news flow between now and then with that kind of tech will ensure a much higher price. | a.fewbob
17/11/2019 17:48 | Annoys me when you get news like this, apparently presented at Mello: lika (IKA) – a company now focused on developing solid state batteries. Such batteries have better characteristics than the commonly used Lithium-Ion batteries in many products. Ilika are now developing larger capacity batteries but it may be 2025 before they are price competitive. I have seen this company present before. Interesting technology but whether and when they can get to volumes sufficient to generate profits is anybody’s guess. 2025? FFS! | swiss paul
13/11/2019 09:39 | In November 2017, Ilika announced a partnership to deploy Stereax powered devices for the condition monitoring of wind turbines with Titan Wind Energy, the largest manufacturer of wind turbines in China and the 4th largest globally. Beta prototype devices are nearing readiness for trial deployment.Hopefully we will be getting a rns that Beta prototype devices have been deployed. | gary38
13/11/2019 09:21 | From some comment I read in Autocar it seems the auto manufacturers are becoming increasingly pessimistic about solid state batteries, and now think they might be a decade away for their application. Presumably they're au fait with Ilika's progress, so it doesn't augur well for future production. | supernumerary
13/11/2019 08:19 | What will it take for this share to start being interesting and start rising or falling it just seems to be dormant I'll keep holding at a loss I might add but nothing major but just some interest would be nice any views on this share ? Or is it another bottom drawer | kenbos

21/10/2019 21:33 | Yes I guess so. I read somewhere the other day that not only was Mars habitable in the past with water etc but so was Venus surprisingly enough. According to scientists Venus is 200c (I think if memory serves) or there about due to a greenhouse effect because of its dense atmosphere. Fascinating to think that billions of years ago, they reckon Venus had water! Besides all the obvious things that could eliminate life on Earth, apparently the whole galaxy could be irradiated by the black hole in the centre of our galaxy! If it swallows enough matter apparently it spits out gargantuas amounts of radiation sterilising the entire galaxy! | a.fewbob

20/10/2019 22:54 | The history of mankind is but a tiny blip in the history of this planet. Just look at the history of the solar system and earth!!!! It’s only a matter of time before the wheels fall off and millions die. We have zero spare capacity in food production, fresh water, or Space to deal with a major calamity. | a.fewbob
20/10/2019 22:49 | Do tell me, I’m not the only one farting into bottles, corking them and burying them in the garden..... Am I? Was I the only one that got that memo?! | a.fewbob
20/10/2019 22:47 | Nope, I’m fifty fifty on man made global warming. But that’s really not the point. Global warming is only one issue out of many more. It’s just plain insane to think mankind can keep expanding and expecting technology to solve the problems. The fact is, even if we manage to overcome our current issues with tech. If population keeps rising then eventually the planet will simply no longer cope. Therefore it is utterly idiotic to approach this be decarbonising, not eating meat, farting in a bottle etc etc When the writing is plain to see. I don’t want to witness mass starvation, disease, war, or natural disaster slaughtering hundreds of millions. | a.fewbob
20/10/2019 21:04 | Nah, All I can find about aluminium batteries is that they are nit recharged but swapped out as the aluminium is consumed by the electrolyte. Thus brings its own problems. Can you imagine the environmental cost of mining and processing aluminium fir depleteable batteries. Just shifting the problem around. | a.fewbob
