FYI, I tried to sell some of my holding in this today and the Market Makers offered to take £50 worth from me, yes your not seeing things £50. The broker told me that the Market Makers reckon the company is about to go bust. What kind of statement is that coming from a Market Maker?

Doubt we're all that far apart, ps. Differences of emphasis - degree of risk & time before the outcome begins to become apparent.

Hope your confidence is justified & I can blow the dust off the shares in due course.

Don't expect the share price to remain dormant for too long. The city looks 6-12 months ahead and once they twig what is going on here they will mark up the price sharply.
Does anyone seriously think that the private equity company involved here is pumping money into HRD with a view to letting it drift. Of course not. They have made good changes ( in my view) they have got the bad news out of the way early on and my guess is that they will make HRD profitable within 18 months - 2 years.
Who knows they may then sell the company, thats what private equity firms do isn't it ? They certainly don't throw money away. They identify an underperforming and cheap company with superb prospects and turn it around.
I believe HRD could have global appeal. Imagine what will happen when the Americans get a liking for Hardy Amies clothes. "Wasn't he dressmaker to the little old queen of england, shucks" !!
as always DYOR.

I think your view is right, psolomons. The new 'owners' have clearly decided to change to a bigger strategy than the original of using the name to generate licensing income with few ongoing overheads to cover. Hence the clear message that more capital will be needed and, sadly, nothing to look forward to short term.

The original strategy was attractive. Sadly they ran out of cash/time and either the new investment wouldn't have come in without a pretty clear idea that they wanted a different approach or they decided so in their subsequent review.

The shares have nowhere to go in the short or even 12 month view. There is bound to be a trickle of sells and why should anybody buy until things become clearer? They are no more than highly speculative presently. Put them in the attic.

You are both (haggis and damloy) investing in the wrong company. If you think Hardy Amies is synonymous with royalty and ancient history you clearly haven't even looked at the clothes on their website.
The designs are ultra modern and extremely stylish which given time will have global appeal.
My guess is that the new ceo, who is known to be a pretty sharpe cookie, is getting this company moving already.
If you think their portfolio of designs is for 'boring old farts and royalists' I suggest you look again or sell.

Don't be too down hearted. As always when a company is taken over the new management get all the bad news out of the way at the first opportunity.

If you like their clothes you will believe, like me, that Hardy Amies will become a global brand. Its got the name, the designs and now the management.

18 months-2 years down the line the share price will be much much higher in my view. Now is the time to buy if you are able to take a medium/long term view.
dyor though.

I got a few today at under 2p !! That has simply got to be a bargain. If the share price and market cap fall again I will simply add.

Noone likes to see a falling share price but I simply believe the Hardy Amies story and think the management there mean serious business.

What an awful company this was on Ofex & what an awful one on AIM too.

The AFX summary is quite the most damning & indeed contemptuous I can recall reading. I particularly liked the last sentence on Brunning. Off the dole queue, presumably! If he had any relevant experience, no doubt they would have mentioned it.

The last sentence says it all, really - 'a further fundraising will be required in 2007'. The euphemisms tell us they are stuck with stock they can't sell and apparently bad debts.

The plans trumpeted a year ago - perfume, international homewear brand are passed over in silence and the opening paragraphs are making bricks without much straw. Sad to see by far the longest paragraph is about their exhibition.

Put the shares away in the loft & forget them.

Somebody just sold another 50k - got a decent price for the volume, so we appear to haqve equilibrium - for the present.

MMs took stock onto their books at 2p yesterday. The usual clearance sale. Seem to have managed to shift some of it today. We've been round this loop a few times. Until/unless some positive news, the stock will presumably just continue to have the odd seller deciding to take what he can get & the odd punter willing to risk a few hundred quid on an outsider.

Why was there a large spread this afternoon?
Ticked up on the offer price.
Someone mentioned to me that there was a front runner on this stock today!
Something is brewing here.

Hi Damloy,

I dont doubt that there will be good news with the results....

I think we will get news about the tie up with a major far eastern trading company who will start to sell household products.

The results should show sales explode BUT there will still be a loss.

Going foward this has the makings of a really good return imho

Results due soon

expecting results this month, should see some pretty horrible losses but look forward to seeing forward earnings/sales statements. New partners would have had time to "bed in" lets see what they have done.
