Friad not. Was the 26th of April last year but the company hasn't announced the date this year yet.

6 weeks to the results. Should be very interesting. Im keeping these under the bed and just keeping half an eye on them. Long periods of calm before dropping is not my idea of fun but that may change.

Agreed. That was, I think, Tim's original strategy & the right one. The new lot seem to have put it on the back burner, concentrating on the UK market, at leaat as first priority. See Chairman's statement in the last accounts, none of the overseas franchising previously discussed in company releases apparently pursued & Tim's effective departure.

I think if the cash hadn't run out first, Tim's approach would have had a good chance of working. As it was, the cash injection has led to the change and we must hope it comes off. Progress in 2007 will give us the likely answer.

Good point. Nice (wool) tie, anyway. I commend to those of us who can't afford the real thing!

Re Ties, think they may be China copies, seen those on the net...I got offered a bundle of 20 Paul Smith Shirts to sell on ,really hard to tell they were fakes and these came from HK.

BTW Nice to see a few new "faces" around here

Ref ties, my eBay buy arrived yesterday. Very nice. The vendor seems to have a large supply.

Looking at the Companies House site, I note the accounts for 2005 are now filed - which is a relief! The AR was filed right at the end of September

As the AGM was 11 January, I would guess the filing was on time & the delay was simply the normal delay in setting them up online. Given the accounts were signed off, etc., there was no apparent reason for a late filing.

Nonetheless, worth asking the question & I look forward to HRD's reply.

Just a note of caution over tonights Dow movements.

I've watched the markets for 30 years now, and I know from experience that when the markets start to see-saw 2-3-4-5 percent over a few months then the market is going to crash.

The market started to do this in March - May 87, and then June-August 87. If the Markets start to do this this next few months I would advice all Advfn's to withdraw a lot from the Market and wait for the buying opp0rtunity, which always comes.

The reason why tonights dow movement worries me is the way it lost 280 points in 20 minutes, 7.45pm to 8.05pm aprox.. This is a very worrying signal.

Good luck to all.

"also according to companies house website
the annual return was due on January 27th 2007 and has not yet been filed.
Does anyone think this matters".

Good point and I think it matters particularly as they will be fined for this.

I have sent a letter to Peter Phillips at Hardy Amies asking about this matter.
I noticed it applies to all 3 hardy Amies companies at Companies house.
This is very annoying and somebody down the line (whether it is Companies House
or Hardy Amies) must be negligent in this matter.
I will keep you informed of any replies I get.

Ref. above, I've put a bid on one. A memento mori soon if the stock is appearing on on the market stalls in this quantity.

Never thought of looking on eBay. As you note, a lot on offer - brand new at £11.99. Part of the stock writedown?

Presumably bought as a job lot by the trader.

It doesn't really do a lot for the brand.

I do not know how long the Tab has been there, and I have not seen anything mentioned in any of their reports.

Lets hope it does come soon.

At least Ties are selling on ebay. If you put Hardy Amies into Ebay's search engine you get about 150 hits. Lets hope this is good news and shows there is some demand for their items.

Good luck to all

I must admit I hadn't noticed the online shop tab on the website. Is it recent? My impression of the website is that - quite reasonably as I don't suppose it is much frequented by potential customers - it isn't much kept up to date.

Nice if there is some new initiative 'coming soon'. Rather the opposite if it's been 'coming' for some long time.

I'm not too sure what to make of the late AR. Lets hope no news is good news.

Just out of interest does anyone know when the Hardy Amies online shop is opening. It just says opening soon on the web site

I am surprised at the apparent non-filing of the AR as the AGM was properly convened for 11 January. There was no formal announcement of the results of the resolutions but there was nothing likely to go wrong, particularly given the voting power of the 'owners'. A bit disconcerting, but hopefully merely arrears at Companies House?

As to the conclusion, we are all, I think, in agreement. Long term hope & apart from the occassional itch to put money on an outsider at long odds - often felt & too often succumbed to by me on the racecourse - best left alone for any serious consideration at present.

The statement re Tim's resignation still makes me twitchy, in that the single positive statement was a rather shifty number and generally in these updates saying nowt about other matters, such as the HN concession, indicates there is no good news.

nice photos but on the company website they have November 2006 dates so have been in the pipeline for a while.

was there any activity during London Fashion week? It should be the ideal time to generate some pr.

also according to companies house website the annual return was due on January 27th 2007 and has not yet been filed. Does anyone think this matters?

Whilst the shares price looks cheap against the potential of the brand I need some signs of improvement before investing any more money.

Good luck to those who are braver.

I understand your concern ladybird1 but the retail sales are
going up each year for the last 3 years.
Surely this cannot be a bad thing
Retail sales for the year to Dec 31

2006 increased 27.3 pct to 466,691 stg.
( 2005)GBP366k
(2004): GBP225k
This is encouraging as licensing sales follow successful retail
sales .
This is what Tim Maltin commented in the Hardy Amies Final Results

RNS Number:1818O

Hardy Amies PLC

and you must admit the fashions look stunning this year

I've got a feeling these could be the next Laura Ashley type of stock.

I have watched laura Ashley from 6p to the present and I believe these will go the same way this next 3 years.

long term buy and hold.

Good luck all "hrd' ers"

Just noticed, browsing the figures whilst mulling buying up some cheap stock after the latest sale, that retail sales in the second half were actually flat against 2005 at £200k. The big increase, leading to the headline 27% year-on-year increase in the last RNS, were all in the first half.

I think I'll just stick with those in the attic.

up a tad more....I have decided to hold long term after reviewing some of my multi baggers Laura Ashley & Walker Greenbank. I bought these "names" when they were unloved and had little interest. Could history repeat its self here?

They have the products, the contacts and lets hope some new funding ;0)
