Interestingly, nobody offering a discount on 2p, I just tried. Transactions take a bit of time to get on the board, so presumably somebody's cleared out the stock overhang but they want to keep a very tight position.

Yo Bungler. Welcome aboard. I think the Brunning letter is very positive. He's either indicating that HRD is doing well or he's pretending and the company is in trouble. If what I hear is correct we could all be very pleased over the medium term to be involved here - but my source is not always as accurate as I would like! ladybird i think (hope!) the chances of losing the lot are almost zero judging by the calibre of people involved. I think it is just a matter of time and how much patience we have. BWDIK.

ladybird that was me - and you're right the letter did nudge me into doing something I've been toying with for some weeks - buying into HRD. I don't know if it's my broker or not but I have tried for a discount over several weeks gradually upping my limit but every time the trades remained unexecuted so in the end I took the plunge and paid full whack. Hope I'm not mad because the spread is scary.

Just a follow up to my post 307 on 27th February 2007

I wrote to Mr Phillips and got the following reply today from Nigel Brunning regarding late fling of AR


Thank you for your recent correspondence telling us about your concerns regarding the annual returns which are now a month and a half overdue.
I am writing to reply instead of Peter Philips as I run the business on a day to day basis.
Unfortunately this late filing seems to have arisen in the changeover from when we brought back the company secretarial function in-house in order to save costs. Now that you have brought the matter to my attention, I have requested copies of the annual returns and these will be filed within the month.
You should be aware that there is no penalty for late filing of an annual return.
I hope you have also noted that our online shop is now up and running. We will expand the offering as time progresses and will be writing to shareholders at some point to notify them of a shareholder discount code.
A lot is going on in the business at present and in the six months I have been here I feel that we have made some significant improvements to the business. I have no doubt that you have become a shareholder at good time

'Praise the lord' the online shop is up and running. Take a look at the HRD web site. OK they are only selling the perfume at the moment but it is a start and it shows the management are doing something.
I actually have every confidence they are putting things in order and hopfully the results will reflect that.
