Cyclists killed. A most heart breaking statistic indeed, my deepest and warmest sympathies go out to all families and friends involved.

Stopped out on spreadbet here yesterday, will re-enter lower down if i can. 4 cyclists killed in 8 days in London, terrible, yet people still want to cycle on the same roads as cars and lorries. Boris Johnson has a lot to answer for imo.

Bought a few this morning but would buy more on a decent pullback. Seems to have gone up in straight line. Just wondered what price you paid CR? Good weekend coverage and the amount of middle aged cyclists with all the gear on i see on a Sunday morning seems to increase by the week.

Nice to see HFD holding on to the massive gain on a down-day for the index. Am hoping for more good coverage in the form of a good exec hire for the autocentres and a brilliant xmas marketing campaign to keep the sales momentum. Dividend due in 5 weeks too. Roll-on £5+.

Opened a long last knockings yesterday. Stopped out at 435 on my short and my long in plenty profit. Cannot believe how good the statement is. Completely wrong with my assessment but you live and learn.

So tempted to take the money and run but last time I regretted it. Reasons to stay in: economy bounding out of recession, more leisure spend; more secondhand cars on the road increasing Halford's market for accessories etc; new management strategy - better staff hiring and better training; better marketing online (expanding online sales); expanding physical network; dividend still almost 3% and prospects of a future increase; Halfords dominates its market by a massive margin. Reasons to sell? None obvious right now, just a worry that the share price will go off the boil. Fear and greed - am engaged in the struggle again...

Stonker of a statement today - back long. Q2 stunning - these are back off to 550p imo.

Several broker upgrades already today:


0839 GMT [Dow Jones] Investec Securities raises its target price on Halfords Group PLC (HFD.LN) to 520p from 460p following the company's interim results Thursday. "Sales growth is what the market wanted and after knock-out 1Q Retail sales, strong momentum continued in the second quarter," it says. Notes 1H pretax profit was up 6.4% to GBP44.6M versus Investec's view for GBP38.9M, with the beat all down to Retail, it says. "While still early days in Matt Davies' three-year recovery strategy, these results should help to reassure doubters," says Investec. Adds further benefits of the strategy are yet to come. Reiterates buy recommendation. Shares +9.3% to 458p, a three-year high.([e-mail]; Twitter: @NinaBains1)

Well I can say for sure he isn't me! I really was asking for guidance as I'm new to this game. I closed my short last night and went long. Only £10 a point but hey a loss turned into a profit so I'm happy!

Up nearly 12% today. Too much excitement. Am going for a lie down. Very amusing Kendo bashing but credit to him for making the right call at the eleventh hour. Is it really true that he is Pokio and was having a fawning public conversation with himself asking for guidance on HFD? Please say it isn't true. My main issue with him is his appalling grammar, punctuation and spelling. If he can sort that out his deramping and ramping would look a lot more persuasive.
