30/9/2013 20:33 | Yes the economy is recovering!!!After years of hardship and cruelty and only just being able to feed and clothe my family through the winters of our discontent, I must rush out and buy 1500 pound bikes 600 pound stereos and a sat nav device for every member of my family........?Get a grip....it's going down! | ![]() kendonagasaki
25/9/2013 15:14 | what are peoples view on recovering economy? should halfords see an improvement in revenue, or generally do people buy new cars rather than fix their old ones? ben | ![]() 11023154
25/9/2013 13:16 | Only 2 analysts with targets over 405p and 3 with targets below 360p The £300m debt facility reduced to £200m No director buys since June when share price back at 306p The slightest bit of bad news and this is heading straight down to 335p which may be why 'The Naked Trader' is shorting this share? Better opportunities elsewhere me thinks | ![]() pas100
23/9/2013 19:04 | Well I can wait! The results will be announced in late october or early November and I'm more than confident they will not be trailblazing and that's a fact. Halfords is indeed IMO a very mediocre business with staff who are more akin to grunting rather than obsessed with the job at hand to serve the customer. There is a mountain to climb, a mountain, young Matthew starts to make in roads into his self chosen journey. In fact I hope he has indeed has chosen the right gear himself?Only the foolish of foolish fools and the blind and deaf must be purchasing halfords shares at these over inflated prices. One set of anything less than excellent results and a major uplift in the first four weeks into Q3 then it will indeed be more than just Question Time?Sell. | ![]() kendonagasaki
22/9/2013 20:24 | Kendo I think you may be referring to the financing they have available to them that has just increased. Granted the dividend holdback for a couple of years is a bit of a bummer and they must invest to deliver in the long run. The long run will indeed have many twists and turns if they are too truly deliver their vision, however I do occur with other posters views in reference to the fact they do indeed seem very overvalued given the volatility this share price has displayed just over the last 5 months. It indeed is not a sure thing and I for one would advise caution. | ![]() quilarvium
21/9/2013 09:46 | Kendonagasaki No idea where you have got your figures from - i would be worried if HFD had that level of debt but they ain't. From annual report At 30/3/2012 net debt was 139 mill At 29/3/2013 net debt had dropped to 110 mill On anything approaching current profit levels debt is a complete non issue as far as risk for shareholders is concerned. In some respects the modest debt has helped the HFD shareprice hold up whilst trading hasn't been that good over the last few years - higher debt and the shareprice may have tanked more. As far as other other creditors are concerned - being a niche retailer i think it would be very unlikely for suppliers to ever get heavy handed with HFD as there is a reasonable likelyhood HFD may be their biggest customer. Main things is halfords make over 60 mill profit pre-tax -and they will never ever have problems collecting the money needed to book those profits. As long as current expectations are met profits are expected to start rising next year. | ![]() rmillaree
20/9/2013 20:15 | 300 million debt, 50 million reduction in dividend payouts, company ranked no where in terms of excellence of service.Yet some numpty broker rates it 4.65 so the sheep follow and think of 5,6 or even 7 pounds a share. Disappointment, a bowed head and a hollow wallet is all that will be left behind. At that point I hope they can dust themselves down and know it served them all right! The higher this goes the bigger the fall? | ![]() kendonagasaki

19/9/2013 23:38 | I mean currently it should be trading in the 3.02 - 3.44 trading range at maximum volume it is not. It is however trading at the latter pressure end of 3.92 to upward pressure of 4.35??????This is an anomaly given current and past trading considering they were up against the Olympics and Sir Bradley wiggins contribution and wild a contributory swing on the bottom line.IMHO this is a car crash waiting to happen and mark my words it will happen sooner rather than later. | ![]() kendonagasaki
19/9/2013 21:29 | Yep, read the naked trader post too. . Weak fundamentals and got short written all over it..... | ![]() edmate

19/9/2013 18:06 | Halfords (HFD) came up at the seminar late on - this looks a great short. After all, its statements aren't great, customer service is hopeless and even better it always runs out of steam at 410 to retreat to 350. So I shorted it at 409, aiming for it to fall to 350 - maybe even hold for longer for a possible fall to 300, but 350 will probably do me. Such an easy short because, well if it went above 415 I'd come out with a small loss, but at 350 there is a lovely profit. Great risk reward ratio. FROM ROBBIE BURNS THE NAKED TRADER AND YOU WILL SEE HE SELDOM GETS IT WRONG. SHORT ALL DAY LONG ON THIS PILE OF RUBBISH... CUSTOMER SERVICE IS WOEFUL AND DEBT UNATTAINABLE DYOR | nazare2

17/9/2013 14:49 | Am I right in thinking not only are halfords not paying 50 million in dividends but have added on more debt obligations?I still think it is far too overvalued IMO. | ![]() kendonagasaki
