Nice quote here: Retail analysts at N+1 Singer said Halfords delivered a "great" half-year, adding its turnaround plan was "definitely one of the more impressive strategic reviews we have seen for some time"

Just wondering what the weekend papers will make of Halfords. It's such a well known brand I imagine it'll get a lot of interest.

Is it now a bigger business than it was at the peak in 2010?

This warm September and October must have affected bulbs, batteries and wipers sales over the last 6 weeks?
Bikes will have slown down and sales very slow!
Company expenditure rising and dividend declining and no increase in substantial profits until 2016?????
I'd say its a sell!

Tweek looks like today that all analysts pencilled on share price forecasts will be broken. Expect a rerating of 5.00 plus very, very soon as we should pull up a min of 50 points today.

Well I never did, did I just go long on this I think I did. This shows the business is growing and growing much faster then anyone had thought it would. At this stage I feel I must congratulate young master Davis and the choice of his exemplary senior management team, it's seems to be bringing increased sales and profits at a time where many peers are struggling to reinvent themselves.Looks like the puppy has big swinging ones.

Well a 6.6% LFL growth for the second Qtr has shocked me!I was expecting 2% at most but 6.6% growth is pretty impressive. I guess I don't get burnt this monrning!

Key Points For The Half:
· Strong Q1 for Retail followed by +6.6% LFL growth in Q2 despite the tough prior-year comparator
· Focus areas of Cycling and Car Maintenance performed particularly well
· Retail management team strengthened, including the addition of Emma Fox as Commercial Director
· The Getting Into Gear programme in Retail progressing well, including: the launch of new recruitment process and colleague training programme, a new Halfords.com website and a number of store refurbishments
· Autocentres performance driven by both market and operational challenges; new Autocentres CEO to be appointed
· Interim dividend of 5.2 pence per share, in line with prior guidance

As I mentioned in my earlier post a few days ago no reason for this not to touch the 450 mark tomorrow and then maybe a little pull back before it continues its climb to the 500 mark.

Tomorrow I expect all median broker price targets to conclude satisfaction on all fronts, also I feel IMO that if results are better then expected and with no nonsense statement thrown in we could touch 4.78 with fresh rerating from many a broker house. If poor results are announced then I too indeed will lose a little sir. Money but never the faith.

Primarch, I'm a professional trader and a long term investor.Last time I shorted HFD and made a packet however I see a very strong chart and resistance is much stronger than last time I went short. So on my own analysis and opinion I think there may be a chance that results may, may just be a little firmer. However if I'm wrong and they are not I may easily be 6-7k out of pocket as I am naked trading on this little punt.I said I would be long if 3.92 was not breached, it was not so I posted my position as my bets were laid, also please take note that if HFD gets a little too toppy I will short again if I feel the inclination to should this price run away with itself.I hope this helps and that you can get some help with your anger management classes old chap?As for getting burnt, that's the lay of the land.Big boys I'm afraid have bigger leverage and as long as you are never too greedy and unattached the sun always shines.Chin up.

Pokio the results are indeed released at 7am on the 7/11/13.They will need to be bloody good or better.Looking back at analysts projections they will be spending some 16 million sterling on store revamps and 12 million sterling on digital and IT overhauls, that's just this year end.Next year they will increase spending to some 33 million sterling on store revamps and up to 23 million sterling on digital and IT overhauls. Of course the lets not forget other variable that I think have been been penned in the form of 'other ' another 6.5 million to 7.5 million thrown to the wolves? Now given the recently good run of form I will take "money on it! " that HFD is slightly a tad overvalued as it jogs into results day may just fail to deliver this "one billion pounds "sterling turnover with a revised upward EBITDA projection in 2016.Let's hope not! This young CEO has guts and vision! We just need to see how big his balls are on Thursday!
