Absolutely right sambessey. It's worth remembering that at the time of the offer to buy Ladbrokes Coral GVC stated that

"The Board of GVC also believes that the transaction will be double digit EPS accretive from the first full year post-completion and following all reasonably expected outcomes of the Triennial Review, including the FOBT maximum stake being set at £2.00."

The point is, one only buys at the very bottom or sells at the very top by chance. The rest of the time you buy somewhere inbetween on a falling or rising market! What IS important is you buy when a share is good value.
