30/10/2018 20:08 | The more temporarily profitable aspect of the budget is the FOBT £2 limit being put back to October 2019, allowing an extra 6 months of income worth something around £1 billion (I think). RGD was also set at 21%, not 25%, as had been suggested. Remote Gambling Association chief executive Clive Hawkswood said: "...it could have been markedly worse at 25 per cent, which was being mooted earlier today. There is also some small comfort that implementation will be six months later than we had prepared for." In any event the large fall in the GVC share price has, imo, created another great buying opportunity. | woodhawk
30/10/2018 19:55 | Lower business rates on on independent bookies, not for the larger national retail chains. | loganair
30/10/2018 18:55 | So, what is the deal on business rates?SP rise might be up as each Ladbrokes shop lower rates to offset FOBT revenue falls | trentendboy
30/10/2018 16:32 | I'm just adding to my position at zero cost, Festy - been trading this for last couple of days. Will be buying them back imminently. | woodhawk
30/10/2018 16:28 | Selling? I'd be buying now, for the confirmed trend reversal. | festario
30/10/2018 16:04 | Had to take a little profit there :-) | woodhawk
30/10/2018 10:47 | As per usual the fear or regulations on the share price are over done, typical short term feelings. | loganair
30/10/2018 10:10 | Picked up a cheeky 5K at the open this morning :) I think we will be above £10 again in the next few weeks/ months (still holding from the £1.20 days :) ) | sambessey
29/10/2018 18:12 | You are I believe right so I may very well stand corrected on this. With apologies to wozzle but yes if they sign it into law the effective date is moot.Which must be what the pension boys were complaining about a couple of months back.. | noujay
29/10/2018 17:56 | So, all-in-all looks like the budget outcome for GVC wasn't nearly as bad as was feared: "Speaking to iGamingBusiness.com about today’s announcement, Remote Gambling Association (RGA) chairman Clive Hawkswood said that with tax levels as high as 25% having been mooted last week, the 21% figure is “encouraging “It’s still a bit more than our analysis; the work we did with Ernst & Young pointed to a figure of a bit less than that [to cover FOBT losses],” he said. “We can debate whether it’s fair, but it’s about mid-range of expectations. “The key thing is timing, with it being in October as we had expected April. It’s a tax hike but it gives an extra six months, so that’s the silver lining." ....... "stakes will also not be cut on FOBTs for another 12 months." hxxp://www.igamingbu | woodhawk
29/10/2018 17:47 | If that's correct then it's a win-win situation for GVC. | woodhawk
29/10/2018 17:44 | Indeed although I still think the cvr is not worth anything if the legislation is enacted ( ie. finance bill for this budget being passed into law) prior to end March 2019 | daneswooddynamo
29/10/2018 17:43 | According to the Guardian the FOBT £2 limit now applies from October 2019 - so an extra 6 months for GVC to derive revenues at existing limits. | woodhawk
29/10/2018 17:30 | How many of these cvr has gvc issued ?? | ecoover
29/10/2018 17:28 | Many thanks for that. I've quite a few that i thought were worthless! w1 | woozle1
29/10/2018 17:27 | I thought it was the finance bill following the budget which will enact the legislation not the date when the measure comes into being | daneswooddynamo
29/10/2018 17:20 | Because the enactment of the £2 legislation will be more than 12 months after the effective date of the merger. From GVC:"If legislation is enacted prior to 28th March 2019 reducing minimum stakes to £2, as announced by the government today, this will result in each CVR having zero value."This has not happened and now the holders of the notes should be receiving 35p per CVR exactly one year after the effective date. | noujay
29/10/2018 16:53 | IG cuurently showing spread 914p - 932p | woodhawk
29/10/2018 16:50 | Nice leap in price !! Real or ADVFN website off ?? | t 34
29/10/2018 16:50 | Current price 922p? Up 6.5%? | woodhawk
29/10/2018 16:45 | Noujay, why? w1 | woozle1
29/10/2018 16:34 | And October 2019 so plenty of time to take some more money!Looks like the CVR's will come due though for former Lads holders | noujay
29/10/2018 16:32 | RGD 21% - not the feared 25%. | woodhawk
29/10/2018 13:26 | Nice quick profit, gbh2! Well done. | woodhawk
29/10/2018 13:25 | Good recovery, good enough for me to step out with a +3% gain and wait to see what develops. | gbh2 |
