24/10/2018 19:16 | Oh by the way meant to add, it's the remote gaming duty I'm referring to.Edison in June in their note said:"Currently, industry views are that the RGD will be increased from 15% to 20%, which we believe would affect EBITDA by £2025m (c 5% of total Online EBITDA). Given the high degree of uncertainty, the possible duty increase is not currently in our forecasts."That's about 3.5% reduction in forecast EBITDA, but they only analysed for a 5% increase in RGD, the chancellor may increase it by 10%, so that's a 7% reduction (c 10% of total online EBITDA) - somewhat different to the 2% kindly posted up by coxsmn.Good luck and thanks again!.DD | discodave4
24/10/2018 19:15 | RGD is payable on any online gambling on casino/slot etc from UK licensed businesses at 15%. Rumour is it'll go to 20-25%. That's quite a big bottom line hit to any big players out there. The share price fall must have factored this in by now though | privileged
24/10/2018 18:53 | FestarioAppreciate what you say but that isn't what the gaming duty is about from what I've read, it's about increasing the tax on overseas online operators who generate income from the uk. So a bit surprised it's only hitting them by 2% that's all. Oh and yes I have researched and yes I know about GVC hence my post. Will ping an email to IR and ask the question.Thank you so much though for your time and valuable feedback, it was most illuminating!.DD | discodave4
24/10/2018 15:47 | Had to take a long spreadbetSeen it too oftenHope for a bigger reversal ? | trentendboy
24/10/2018 15:41 | Good old GVC.... 30p intraday reversal. We've seen that a lot over the years. | festario
24/10/2018 15:09 | Festario, exactly! | mylands
24/10/2018 15:03 | A bit like VRS Mylands? Which is in the recovery room today, thankfully. | festario
24/10/2018 15:00 | If as you say ‘it was orchestrated’ why no short positions? Makes no sense at all. No, IMO it was a sell-off that took hold and scared many who have made excellent profits in this stock to bale out. Good old herd mentality. | mylands
24/10/2018 14:51 | "No one saw this plunge happening" Oh really? It looked totally orchestrated to me. | woodhawk
24/10/2018 14:35 | Woodhawk Each to his own analysis. No one saw this plunge happening, least of all the shorters (the big boys not the small-time punters) who all, barring two, closed their holdings above 0.5% when the price was way over £10. Regarding my mention to add the div back when the price had fallen below £10, the same still/applies today at 865p! | mylands
24/10/2018 13:45 | You've gone all wishy-washy, mylands - how unlike you! You didn't miss the boat did you? You were only saying the other day how the 'real' value was nearly 1000p inc the dividend!?! "any bounce simply brings out sellers" - what real difference would a bunch of scared retail investors make? None. | woodhawk
24/10/2018 13:40 | Yield at 850p 3.7%. A problem with falls like we are seeing is that they shake the confidence of investors, so any bounce simply brings out sellers. It looks like it is batten down the hatches time and wait for the US to bring in the growth we need to see, especially with the pound falling below $1.30/£ | mylands
24/10/2018 13:05 | Woodhawk LOL !!!! | popper joe
24/10/2018 12:40 | I cant see a recovery until Monday when the results of any tax increase in the budget are known. However its quite possible that a huge buying opportunity will exist as the market has priced in the worst case scenario, and some. Plus GVC are not hit as madly as some companies that are UK focused. BTW its staggering to see the number of posters on here who dont understand what GGR is taxed in the UK and what is not. Bottom line much of GVC tradional GGR not UK and not landed under UK licenses. But Coral and Lads are landed under UK licenses. | brownie69
24/10/2018 12:39 | I'm well aware. My wife worked for them for 14 years. Just interested to see if the budget is going to have any implications for bets placed in offshore jurisdictions, as he pointed out. It wasnt something I was aware of. | kexicus
24/10/2018 12:32 | 12.30... time for a change of direction? Or will the madness continue? | woodhawk
24/10/2018 12:10 | Eh? BWin is a GVC subsidiary, what's wrong with you people? | festario
24/10/2018 12:08 | Bwin also in Gibraltar. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Will be looking at it with interest. | kexicus
24/10/2018 12:04 | Excellent advice Maddox. Best buying price for a year. | woodhawk
24/10/2018 12:01 | I am waiting to see what 29th oct brings.....the market will be nervous until then imo. | nurdin
24/10/2018 11:57 | lets face it - if the market was rational it would be an awful lot more difficult to make money. Control your natural anxiety and make the most of the opportunity it presents. | maddox
24/10/2018 11:56 | Must be almost 4% at this level. | woodhawk
24/10/2018 11:56 | It's dividend re-investment day tomorrow. So every cloud...!!! | popper joe |
