10/3/2008 17:16 | 1.50 per share makes pe cheap | nephie
10/3/2008 16:14 | so we have 2.03 then 4.4 then 7.21 so where does that make Q4.....I guess 10m would be conservative and maybe 10.5m on a good day | nephie
10/3/2008 13:01 | Breakout... we don't SCSW tips to get this going. | chester
10/3/2008 12:06 | Nice rise today. I hope the newbies here are not going to panic on a dip - this is an illiquid stock so don't be surprised if it gives a bit back sharpish too at times. CR | cockneyrebel
07/3/2008 15:15 | good solid statement :o) | nephie
07/3/2008 14:39 | Nice statement, nice surprise - reckon that means 96p+ eps is nailed on. No share split mentioned sadly, perhaps at the year end results in late Aug. I'll ride the volatility of the market with these up until then. CR | cockneyrebel
07/3/2008 14:18 | Quarterly EPS 19.8p, 22.5p, 27.9p - accelerating...assum | res1606
07/3/2008 14:16 | Excellent figures as usual. At the 1/2 year point they had done 40p EPS, at the 9 month point they have done 64p EPS and say production is increasing and demand is strong. Look bang on for at least 25% EPS growth this year. | darlocst
07/3/2008 14:11 | Pretty good figures today | robward
06/3/2008 14:10 | C.R. APF is a sleep at night share, with a terrific growth since 2000. Valued as an I.Trust, but with so much more to come. It is never properly valued by the market, but even so pays a good div. & is solid, earning from Royalties & investments, with no overheads. Has a hidden resource of vast quantities of Canadian coal on the balence sheet for nowt, so the sleep is of the sweet dreams variety thanks. Dyor. Regards H. | haydock
05/3/2008 19:11 | Bought a few hundred today Hope the trend continues | stegrego
05/3/2008 12:02 | It sounds really good C.R. I have this on my watchlist. However if you really want to compare growth, there are others. Anglo Pacific is much overlooked{ I hold} It is even better perhaps over 5 years.Look at the P/E on APF. Year Ending Revenue (£m) Pre-tax (£m) EPS P/E PEG EPS Grth. Div Yield 31-Dec-03 a3.38 a4.11 3.70p 12.3 n/a -10% 2.60p 5.7% 31-Dec-04 5.31 7.71 7.11p 14.7 0.2 +92% 3.60p 3.4% 31-Dec-05 11.57 16.94 14.31p 8.2 0.1 +101% 5.50p 4.7% 31-Dec-06 10.47 22.11 19.12p 7.7 0.2 +34% 6.35p 4.3% 31-Dec-07 8.63 33.77 28.72p 6.3 0.1 +50% 7.35p 4.1% Only because you issued a challenge, no ramping intended. | haydock
05/3/2008 12:01 | £15 currently imo. that's the value I place on these today. Come the results in 6 months and 130p eps expected in the current year I would hope these were trading well over £15 by then, particularly if the general market climate is much more settled then. At £15 come the final results the PEG would be just 0.38 with the PE @ 11.5 and growth @ 30%. Consindering tis is one of the very few stocks that can claim a genuine PEG as invented by Slater (i.e has to have 5 years earnings growth) then that will still be incredibly cheap. Slater reckoned a PEG of 0.75 was cheap so on that basis GDWN @ £30 in June would still be a buy on his formula. GDWN are getting much more awareness too - when these get a bit more coverage now their market cap is £80m+ and FTSE Small Cap Entry @ £15, more MM trading, share split perhaps, then the snowball starts to roll imo. CR | cockneyrebel
05/3/2008 11:47 | £15 for 130p in the year just about to start with a 20-30% growth outlook on your numbers? Only 11.5 times earnings? | res1606
05/3/2008 11:43 | How can these be pricey Chrismcglone? Have you seen the earnings growth record? It is unrivalled anywhere on the LSE. 2003 = 25.5p, 2004 = 27p (+6%), 2005 = 35p (+30%), 2006 = 47p (+35%), 2007 = 65p (+38%). On a rolling 6 months basis Goodwin did nearly 80p eps over the past 12 months. They are set to do 100p+ this year by the looks of things which will be arnings growth of over 50%. Bearing in mind in the year ahead they should do in excess of 130p eps at this rate the fwd PE is still 9 or so. How can that be expensive for a stock with 5 years of earnings growth that has accelerated every year in that time? I think these are worth £15+ myself - I'd challenge anyone to show me a company with better earnings growth over 5 years. CR | cockneyrebel
05/3/2008 08:41 | Looks to me as if the shares have just broken out of the long term upward channel - to the upside :-) | westcountryboy
04/3/2008 22:20 | Certain shares are worth paying a premium for and you will be rewarded for it in the long term, the key is when to exit | paxton208
04/3/2008 15:03 | They are still just a wee bit pricey for my liking at the moment CR. The figures i pulled off last months Company Refs suggest the current share price is not exactly value territory. It certainly was a year back. I still think it looks a cracking company but i have missed the boat for the time being. It is on my watch list. | chrismcglone
04/3/2008 12:51 | Anyone new to GDWN sould read the last statement imo: "The order books of all Group companies remain buoyant and it would be surprising if the current level of activity were to drop in the second half of the year. The Group's continued investment in terms of time and money in order to develop manufacturing and sales operations in the rapidly expanding Pacific Basin countries is progressively resulting in a larger proportion of Group profits emanating from this region and the Board considers this effort will position the Group well in future years. Goodwin Steel Castings continues to win multi million dollar orders for valves and components for use in high efficiency electrical power generating plant, be it in China, India or the USA. Goodwin International, having recently expanded its range of check valves to include the nozzle check valve to complement its dual plate check valve, and with its new sister company in Germany, Noreva GmbH, is expected yet again this year to win record levels of orders from the oil, gas and LNG industries world wide which have an impressive five year investment programme to keep pace with the increasing world demand. The Refractory Engineering Division with manufacturing units in the UK, Thailand, China and India continues to expand and we are starting now to see economies of scale benefits, especially with our new UK vermiculite facility which is scheduled to be fully commissioned in January 2008. Internet Central has engineered a hardware/software platform that provides a stable leading edge technology voice over internet protocal (VOIP) telephone exchange system that is now being sold through a growing number of distribution channels, which should enable this company to continue its growth in turnover and profitability. The Board continues to investigate opportunities of achieving additional growth in terms of turnover and profitability but it remains Board policy that the Group should finance any such growth from its own profit streams and that expansion would be in areas where our experience and core skills can be discerningly utilised. The Group continues to invest and carry out research into products that will result in reduced environmental pollution. This is especially the case for products that are needed to improve the efficiency of coal and gas fired power stations which represent over 65 % of world power generating capacity.
