Hey big spender! A whole almost £20k director buy. I'm neither overwhelmed or underwhelmed but it's better than a sell.

I see 1s this morning. Perhaps we'll end the day with the stock price starting with a 1.

not sure there is a lot to say other than its a very good thing to see an existing holder buy another 2% of the company. We might get a couple more holdings rns too.

Anyone comment on the Swedish Bank stake increase?

Personally, I doubt they'll be taken out early. The acquirers like Tencent seem to put a foot in the door 'early' as they have already done and then purchase when a business is successful. As an investor that seems counter-intuitive but money is not an issue for them. Maybe 12-18 months time with 3 successful games up and running with the further 2 franchises known to everyone.

I hope they aren't a takeover target as I think there is more value in the medium term for us shareholders.

Games can be massive if they go viral. Game of war Game which was free to play on mobile devices grossed $1m a day according to business insider.

Any thoughts on FDEV as a potential takeover target now Braben's stake has been diluted then reduced.

I think there's more chance of FDEV continuing to outperform even GAW and KWS long term, given the number of franchises they will soon be running with an almost fixed cost base. I expect the next one will be announced in a few months as games tend to get the hype going about a year before release.

The trend looks solid still to me, when comparing to some similar UK entertainment shares like KWS and GAW. It may have slowed down a bit here to be sustainable long term. KWS has been similar and looks like it has bottomed short term last week for example.

There could be a lot of emotion opportunity for a while, but buying any dips including this one might have some nice outperformance, as hype and publicity events for the movie will come when we don't expect it.

I think in about six months there might be prerelease game sales that will give us some way to accurately scale JWE. Meanwhile existing franchises with DLC and discount events seem to be performing well.

What I can quantify so far from the internet interest is that this would have been at least a double Elite Dangerous (which has far more internet following even than PC). But this will be scaled up by publicity Frontier couldn't possibly buy thanks to the movie marketing, which surely will be worth tens of millions from the movie studio given what they will expect to make. That's the reason to do movie game franchises. Travellers Tales used to do that in the 90s and made a nice profit from every single one at low risk.

Because of this sell off everyone is chicken sh1t scared of the sky falling in. If they post something, it might trigger another wall of selling.

Tuck some away. I am "gamer", but the stock market is a better game that I play now. Going back to Grand Theft Auto 5 and TTWO interactive, thats a $10bn company. Get this company dual listed on the NASDAQ someday and FDEV could be in the same league.

Pbutterworth1 - your first point is well made, however would contend that anybody invested who actually went beyond looking at a chart could understand the game-changing potential. The business to consumer model is simple and transparent. Given how little it takes to move a share price would imagine any informed investor would not be tempted to look for the exit at these valuation levels, or even as high as they have been recently. That's the difference between skill and luck.

A little observation - unless you are a gamer you may never have heard of FDEV until recently. That includes me. Truth is, this well run company addressing a globally growing market with a series of excellent innovative products is getting bigger and bigger. This is why more and more investors are looking at FDEV. I think its hard for the directors, and long term PIs in FDEV to look rationally at something you invested in that has gone up so much without selling it. That is their problem. Truth is the company has way way to go up.........

None of those trades are 3%, which is about 1.15m shares, so if there's no RNS then these are quite a number of significant new investors, many about 1% each. Hopefully investors anyway.

That's because the "news" was a few days ago, and the sky did fall in. Or at least the price returned to where it had been 3 weeks before, to be less melodramatic. We just found out about the "news" last night.

Nice to see the overnight news hasn't caused the sky to fall in, in fact quite the opposite.

I'm excited to see who purchased. I hope Old Mutual bought some as they always seem to like these type of growth companies. Perhaps Tencent snaffled a few too.

Yes, 10% of the company's shares were in the placement, so we should get some holding announcements shortly.
