Flybe increases London City to Belfast City with a surprise

Flybe is set to operate up to six flights a day to George Best Belfast City Airport from May 7, 2018.

The news will be welcomed by business users as these flights operate between airports which are the most convenient for downtown.

What’s the surprise ?

It is that two of the flights which operate at business friendly times will be operated by Eastern Airways using Embraer 170 jet aircraft.

The jets offer a faster and smoother flying experience compared to the Q-400 turbo-props which operate the other flights on this route and form the backbone of the Flybe fleet.

Eastern Airways will operate these flights:

London City to Belfast City BE1352 0855-1005
London City to Belfast City BE1360 1950-2100
Belfast City-London City BE1361 0705-0825
Belfast City-London City BE1359 1800-1920
The jets provide flight times which are 15 mins less than the Embraer jets but of course the flying experience is better.

Sadly this happy situation will not last too long.

Flybe tells me that Eastern Airways will only be operating the above flights until the end of June which is when the wetlease expires.

So although these flights will continue, they’ll be operated by Flybe using its Q-400s.

So enjoy the jet experience while you can.

Sicknote. Was this not an update to a subset of the Hoskins position. I don’t believe they have another 15% on top of their 17+%

Come on be reasonable. With fair wind its worth about £500M which equates to about £2 a share..... Given a bit of time. However I'm in a bit of a hurry so would accept £1 a share for cash. If twisted my arm 80p but make it snappy.

Sick, my view is that valuation is too high and the price action since the announcement is telling us something.Numerous individuals would know details of likely offer.......and share price is sticking at current levels......10 to 15% discount to possible offer price.I was hoping for 60p......but for personal reasons think the Bod will recommend any offer.Recovered my losses here at 47p.....so time for me to move on. Good luck, not long now one way or the other.

The price hasn't moved!

Ignore the UT - it's meaningless and just focus on the ATs (and mainly the AT sells - when we see AT sells at 50 which hold then it's off to the races.

Volume today was too low to mean anything.

Hi hippo I've seen takeovers done in excess of 100 percent premiums .My personal view is that this will go for 69p-75p approx 155 million .I really can't see holders selling out for less as I feel stobart re just taking advantage of the brexit effect on the share price . Feel flybe are starting to roll in the right direction and there is limited downside from here . Personally for a quick buck would like a takeover offer but at the same time would have liked a takeover next year at 1.00 plus !All depends on your beliefs in the company I guess .Sicknote N a I

Took my money off the table today, personally think a bid will come, but maybe nearer 55p, as it will be based on the closing price day before potential offer was reported.Good luck, I'll be watching with interest how this plays out, Flybe hasn't been kind to me.

a late flurry perhaps. 10 days to go before the deadline as of Monday so you would have thought that Blackrock might well be consider closing out their short. they will need to find 4% of the free float to do this which is going to be pretty hard IMO.
