24/5/2018 06:51 | speaking to some people re: Edinburgh Festival... There is lots of concerns about getting advanced TRAIN tickets because of the East Coast line being in a bit of a state of fluck or flux ...... Could be cue or queue for flights ....... As trains go off the rails (this is for all of EASTERN UK) Its quite possible FLYBE could pick up some extra tickets for Edinburgh (etc) if they bung in some quick advertising for this route for a week or two...... Easy money. | netcurtains
24/5/2018 00:28 | "7. Which makes it one of the largest airlines in the UK Behind BA, EasyJet and Flybe, Jet2 is the UK’s fourth largest airline, ahead of Virgin Atlantic, in terms of passengers carried." Source: Article on Jet2 in yesterday's Telegraph SP better move north to fit in with being labelled the 3rd largest airline in the UK | cleverinvestor

21/5/2018 20:36 | Yields in market have risen due demise of Air Berlin, Monarch, Alitalia, and although not direct competitors this will have had positive influence on Flybe. Also they have a decent hedge book which will buy 12-18 months and mean profits should be improved in short term | jerseyman1
21/5/2018 19:43 | With oil at 80 dollars , will this be the next reason flybe fail to recover ?Share price heading in right direction at moment and above 40pThoughts anyone ?Sicknote | s34icknote
11/5/2018 10:00 | Not sure I understand that comment phillis. Presumably they had backers for their "bid" but couldn't agree price. As matters evolve they may return. If all they can offer is cash, provided it is enough, I would be happy. As I said before, I feel it unlikely they will return, I think the moment has passed. | jerseyman1
11/5/2018 09:50 | but nothing else to offer | phillis
11/5/2018 09:39 | During takeover it was made clear that Flybe would be bought by a special purpose vehicle which Stobart had a large minority stake in and would manage, presumably including their own small airline. Means they could finance separately from Stobart. Makes sense given underlying nature of Stobarts ( lack of) profitability. Any bid relies on market being willing to finance this vehicle, that Brady is a better airline manager than Flybe team, and belief that there is value yet to be realised from Flybe's own turnaround plus synergy with existing Stobart airline. Quite a few things need to coincide for Stobart to be able to re bid, but not impossible, although my view is that it's now unlikely.....althoug | jerseyman1
11/5/2018 09:31 | so they dont actually want to be in the airline business They never intended to be an outright purchaser of FLYBE | phillis
11/5/2018 09:25 | Yep and the MD still wants to do a deal with FLYBE "Brady, chief executive, said that his abortive plans to merge Stobart’s aircraft fleet with Flybe remained a good idea. “We have said we don’t plan to be a long-term holder of Stobart Air,” he said. “We saw real value in putting the business together. Our plan was to take a minority stake and become an active investor in Flybe.” | toffeeman
11/5/2018 09:17 | so the Stobart Group made a LOSS before their profit on the sale of the Stobart transport group investment | phillis
10/5/2018 12:48 | Do wonder if higher oil price might hold us back ?'Sicknote | s34icknote |
