Global issue . Stock exchanges down today. Microsoft down itself . Not good for us or others. Reveals how at risk we are.

This is a recent & live ongoing broadcast dispute in English racing for Paddy & SkyBet regarding withholding odds for Arena racing courses. Needs sorting.Good read from Evoke on Italy being up double digits in Q2 for SisalNJ was fine, Icasino well up, DK had a nightmare in June sports so need to compare with this AND last year for same month NOT previous month to assess accurately

tx for the clarification. i think has not received news on penn deal and may perceive the time between the rumor emerging and the deal announcement (or not happening) with some measure of trepidation.

To be clear, I don’t perceive the Evoke results are materially relevant to Flutter. I am arguing that the market might (at least in the short term) and may explain today’s sharp fall… it could be something else as Entain is fairly flat.

i would not put any associated issues at Flutter based on evoke. different corp profile, market dominance and tech. we have under 1 month to earnings. also watching penn situation clarify.

Suspect due to an implied read across from earnings results today from Evoke (formerly 888). Their share price is down 13%.

Why the big decline today?

I always appreciate a negative note on here to avoid the natural confirmation bias when you’re invested in a stock. That said, even I am relatively sanguine about the NJ results - handle well up on last year in a market wide quiet month. It was just a good month for New Jersey punters…

Dissapointing numbers from New Jersey. iGaming growing, but sports betting revenue not as much.

Total revenue for the market was 9.5% lower year-on-year at $60.1m. This is also 23.7% behind May’s $78.8m haul.

The decline comes despite New Jersey consumers spending $748.4m betting on sports, up 26.6% from $591.1m last year. Of this, $719.0m was wagered online and $29.5m at retail sportsbooks across the state.

I think it's revenue into EBITDA. Not 100% sure.

What does “profit follow through” mean exactly?

The analysts also highlighted the difference in profit flow-through projections between online gaming giants DraftKings and Flutter-owned FanDuel.

While DraftKings forecasts a flow-through exceeding 50%, Flutter’s projection stands at a more conservative 27%.

Morgan Stanley added that the discrepancy in flow-through projections is attributed to differing marketing strategies and levels of forecasting conservatism.

Analysts said DraftKings is renegotiating less efficient national marketing agreements, while Flutter may have incorporated more cautious projections.

I have been trying to get Hargreaves Lansdown to list Flutter in US. They asked me for the ticker code (don’t they have it??).. then said no as flutter has primary listing/based in Ireland (it isn’t) and finally they don’t register same stock in different markets (yes they already do with ASML and likely many others). Very disappointing as I previously rated the service from this firm very highly.

I have had Flutter US main listing added to trading options at Spreadex, which is useful esp when states like NJ release data after the London close & while US is still open. Famous last words but a 100p + open is in the cards London 8 am. Numbers strong esp icasino

Copa America had 2 draws on the finals.
Most of the international money was on Spain in the euro final.
Recent share movement is good, Flutter finally outpacing DraftKings. Institutional investors don't follow game results, but they do follow analyst recommendations. JMP is the best analyst for gambling market.

JMP Securities analyst Jordan Bender maintained a Buy rating on Flutter Entertainment PLC today and set a price target of $246.00.

I love your perpetual bullishness whitehouse but I don’t follow your point. The Flutter share price is marginally down today but has soared throughout the tournament and is up about 14%. I suspect the strong Euros for the books is responsible for less than half of the increase but it has played its part.

Desperately disappointing result last night. Ridiculous share price is off given Euro24 was a dream for the UK books, draws & most heavily backed making and losing the final

RKeck, Betsson has no relevance to Flutter. I just use their website to see how the bets are distributed between outcomes. For example last night most of the money in Copa America was against Colombia. Colombia won so that was very good outcome.
But Betsson operates a different market with no US exposure and tiny UK exposure, so bets can be totally different between Flutter and Betsson customers.
Betsson only has 43% regulated markets, while Flutter has 97%, and that really shows in the valuations of the companies.

You’ve lost me there lappulissa. What is the relevance of Betsson here? Genuine open question… I’m just confused.

I'm happy to see England in the finals, it will be good for the handle.
For Betsson England's victory over Netherlands was the best outcome. Most of the money was on draw, then on Netherlands and then England. But Betsson has tiny UK exposure with just one brand, Rizk.
