24/1/2020 09:50 | Those people in Scotland are being treated for "Influenza!" Problem with this CoronaVirus, like Influenza,Dengue Fever, Ebola, Flu is that the symptoms are similar and you have to specifically test for say Ebola to see whether a patient has it or not. So for each patient there will need to be several tests, one each for Sars,Influenza,Ebola Even measles perhaps...Similar rashes. Dont place much faith in the Chinese giving a true and fair representation of the problem either. | crossing_the_rubicon
23/1/2020 17:49 | Was just copying and pasting from Google. Coronavirus is a single strand RNA virus which mutates easily and passes rapidly from human to human. I hope it's spread is limited but people are already being treated for it in Scotland and Belfast! | r9505571
23/1/2020 17:15 | "r950557123 Jan '20 - 13:07 - 6906 of 6913 During the period of infection, there were 8,098 reported cases of SARS and 774 deaths. This means the virus killed about 1 in 10 people who were infected" Population of Hong Kong 6.371million in 2003 Infections rate - miniscule. This means it killed an even more miniscule amount. That's why, for so many, it was a storm in a tea cup. Not for the unlucky few, obviously.. | crossing_the_rubicon
23/1/2020 16:42 | Spent my dividend on more shares today. Drops based on sentiment and fear are the best sort. As soon as they lift, so will the share price Happy days ahead. BB | bellbottom

23/1/2020 16:08 | I agree fxpo tends to take a hit over any odd geopolitical event. In the past five months we've had one huge day otherwise its been a constant roller-coaster. Dividend wiped out almost by 3x in a day | thags
23/1/2020 16:08 | I know it's brutal. Nothing rips through the market like fear! | r9505571
23/1/2020 15:52 | a company already on a stupidly low PE ratio gets smacked down 6% on what may or may not happen in china Whats that phrase? "Market can stay irrational, longer than you can stay solvent" Of all the companies that were ripe for a hammering, FXPO wasnt one of them | nav_mike
23/1/2020 15:03 | Appears to be a buying opportunity tho? | r9505571

23/1/2020 12:41 | SARS wasnt that bad. Was in Hong Kong at the time. Hit property values quite hard(but that was absent the Mainland China purchasing uplift of the last few years) But as to general daily life, little seemed to change but the "hand wash dispensers on every elevator" and people walking around with those small farcical masks that really were useless in the big scheme of things. Ebola will be far worse imo than this CoronaVirus (assuming they are not actually linked!) | crossing_the_rubicon
23/1/2020 12:39 | Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) was first discovered in Asia in February 2003. The outbreak lasted approximately six months as the disease spread to more than two dozen countries in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia before it was stopped in July 2003. | r9505571
23/1/2020 12:38 | Wuhan lockdown, China Coronavirus spread fears, and Lunar New Year when nearly everyone travels!!! No wonder basic commodities are down. Any severe outbreak in China means economy screeching to a halt. Anyone believe China GDP is growing at 6.1% odd??? | crossing_the_rubicon
23/1/2020 12:27 | >>The iron ore price outlook has weakened ....>> Oil and copper too. | zho
23/1/2020 12:25 | The iron ore price outlook has weakened ahead of a major Chinese holiday on fears that a coronavirus strain outbreak could delay the spring restart of construction projects. There are traders who stocked up on a lot of cargoes earlier, now hurrying to hedge by shorting on SGX or DCE. They expect the Wuhan virus outbreak could last for a few months if it is like the Sars in 2003," the trader said. | r9505571

22/1/2020 17:12 | look like there is a steady seller who prevent the share going up. It seems to hover around at current level for some time now. Some brokers are managing the sell process? | carer
21/1/2020 08:51 | Farrugia - look at and search on 'reclaiming', or search on "reclaiming Swiss withholding tax on dividends". I can't remember the details now but when I looked into this years ago I thought that reclaiming the tax was more trouble than it was worth. | zho
20/1/2020 20:25 | I got the dividend but I think I was debited 35% in taxes - how do I reclaim this - if I can? | farrugia
