@Harry.

How to claim it back.
I personally don't recall the process but perhaps a "holder" here that does go through the machinations to reclaim their WHT will elaborate or PM you...

You have to pay stamp duty now too for some reason. Used to be £0 before.Think it's something to do with being UK based now

is there anyway to avoid the 35% tax rate for us international holders?

will the 35% rate still be applicable when it comes to holding a CFD?

"Yes Swiss taking 35% of the 5p dividend ie 1.7p three times a year results in loss of shareholder value to all of us"

It's the main reason I wont invest in FXPO tbh.

True but the opposite is also true, it could fall much further! A share will fall by ex div value and then will just trade as usual through the day. Personally can't be bothered with the hassle of Swiss withholding tax so sold out yesterday as dividend results in loss of shareholder value to me. Will buy back on one of fxpos many swings!

Well yes it can in a rising market but dividend is taken off the market cap at start of trading and if it does manage to stay positive after divi that is not as high as it would have been without the divi. Without any division the market cap and therefore share price would be higher by that amount!

Though the dividend is taken out of the share price on ex dividend day, it doesn’t mean that the share will stay down all day.

e.g buying could and sometimes does, see the share price go higher on ex dividend day. And a chance that could happen with FXPO today.

Just googled it! Looks too complicated for me. I probably lose about £350 to the swiss on every 6 cent dividend. They reckon it could take three calendar years to get each claim processed!

We lose out on every dividend to the Swiss tax that takes one third of our earnings. If there were no divi, price would not drop on ex dividend day and if we needed income, we could sell a few without paying any tax! Anyone yet know how to claim this swiss tax back? Is it worth it?

10th is the record date. 1 day before is ex-dividend, as with all shares!
