10/1/2020 13:01 | Trump announced there will be massive infra-structure works in USA which will require a lot of re-construction, all raw materials like iron and steel will be in massive demand , expect to see rebound of the steel price. UK is also planning massive infra-structure upgrade, so the world demand will be huge for raw materials. | carer
10/1/2020 10:41 | how much was the ex div special dividend in pence? | hjs
10/1/2020 10:18 | Nonsense Tygarreg! Also the share soared from 60p to over £3 a few years ago before falling all the way back again. Dividends do not stop the share price subsequently rising. The withholding tax hits shareholders who can’t claim it back and not FXPO’s revenues. Also it was only on the 2nd that you posted with enthusiasm about the special dividend saying “hooray and up she rises!” And harry3021, the ex dividend day was yesterday, so buyers today do NOT get the special dividend. ex dividend means what it says! I.e you are now buying EXCLUDING the dividend. | kenmitch
10/1/2020 10:12 | are you sure? The interim special dividend will be paid on 17 January 2020 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 10 January 2020. It is not the close of business yet? | harry3021
10/1/2020 09:44 | Those buying today will not get the divi | volsung
10/1/2020 09:33 | how do you claim it back? I trust those buying today still get the dividend. | harry3021
09/1/2020 22:54 | Ken mitch the Swiss tax machine is taking 10's of millions out of this company every year via dividend withholding tax. Of course that is detrimental to shareholdrrs. It reduces your returns by 35% | tygarreg
09/1/2020 18:39 | Tygarreg re your post 6824. That’s nonsense about the share would be higher without the dividend. We can’t know what the share price would be. e.g if big investors holding for income decided to sell if FXPO cancelled the dividend. Also dividends can and often do provide added support to the share price, as attractive dividend yield in an era of low interest rates can be seen as a big plus. | kenmitch
09/1/2020 16:51 | Thanks Costa, I've bought a few; the share price seems to make no sense to me. Sorry again FXPO threaders, I won't post OT again (and I'm a happy FXPO holder having bought in at 141p on 6 Dec FWIW). | value hound
09/1/2020 14:51 | Back on topic. Not very exciting news and in any case brokers never been very good at predicting future share prices. BB | bellbottom

09/1/2020 14:10 | They have 2 assets! | costax1654x
09/1/2020 14:10 | One is with gold another asset with tungsten! | costax1654x
09/1/2020 14:09 | Really!? With their interims, they said: "Ormonde's primary activity is through its 30% joint venture interest in the Barruecopardo Tungsten Mine in Salamanca, Spain ("Barruecopardo" or "the Mine"), which is operated by the Saloro S.L.U. ("Saloro")." Then they announced that this is what they're selling: Ormonde announces that it has entered into a conditional Sale and Purchase Agreement ("SPA") for the disposal of the Company's 30% interest in Barruecopardo Joint Venture BV ("Barr BV"), the joint venture holding company for the Barruecopardo Tungsten Mine (the "Mine") in Salamanca, Spain, to Oaktree Capital Management ("Oaktree") for a total net cash consideration of €6 million (the "Disposal"). So what's the additional Salamanca asset? Sorry if I'm being thick here. | value hound
09/1/2020 14:03 | At some point they were looking to sell Salamanca as well for 5 mil euros | costax1654x
09/1/2020 14:03 | So they left with Salamanca and 6 mil for a 3-4 mil mcap | costax1654x
09/1/2020 14:02 | Salamanca is another asset! | costax1654x
09/1/2020 14:01 | Sorry for the OT post but Costax1654x - re ORM; what, if anything, will they have left in terms of other investments once they've realised the €6m from their 30% stake in the Salamanca mine (in addition to the c.€2.5m in current assets less all liabilities I mean? Even if nothing, it still looks to be a bargain, though I suppose it all depends what plans management have for using the cash - as I don't imagine they'll be repatriating it to shareholders? | value hound
09/1/2020 13:54 | Orm is flying | costax1654x
09/1/2020 13:06 | @Harry. How to claim it back. I personally don't recall the process but perhaps a "holder" here that does go through the machinations to reclaim their WHT will elaborate or PM you... | crossing_the_rubicon
09/1/2020 12:58 | You have to pay stamp duty now too for some reason. Used to be £0 before.Think it's something to do with being UK based now | yaszq2001
09/1/2020 12:58 | how do you claim it back? | harry3021 |
