Current fall is due to Putin and people who have sold. Wouldn't be surprised if it fell further on Monday as more people may decide to sell.

Given that EVR is trading with the right to receive RASP shares then theoretically the price should fall by the value of the RASP element on the demerger record date.

Having said that it may not based on how the respective share prices have moved in opposite directions but as mentioned in my post 1096 there are only 6.6% of RASP shares available to trade so price movements are likely to be amplified because of that.

Thanks, I see RASP is valued at 443 Roubles so about £4.40 times 0.4255 equals £1.87, do we think Evraz will fall £1.87 from here ? or is the fall partly due to people not wanting to be out of pocket 'till November ?

The 172p comes from post 1098 not me.

The RASP entitlement is .42554778 shares for every EVR share owned

So for 2,000 EVR you would receive 851 RASP at 412.8r (currently) = 351,293r = £3,448 (sterling) under "Share Sale Facility"

So £9,100 based on 455p less £3,450 = £5,650 / 2,000 = 283p adjusted EVR price post demerger

Comes back to the 172p scrawl mentions above

Gary

EVR 455p RASP 408.6r exch rate 1.0226 = 400p.

A holding of say 2000 EVR gives a value of £9100.
You get 851 RASP so that value is £3400 equates to 37% of the EVR value.

The % will increase if EVR falls faster than RASP.

The current value of EVR probably shouldn't include the effects of the demerger much like a capital issue or div etc as the price is adjusted on the relevant trigger date.

Probably more accurately EVR is still trading with the rights to RASP which it won't after the record date so the share price has to be adjusted at that point by the amount of the RASP entitlement being lost.

scrwal,The EVR share price as dropped around 25% from the De-merger announcement. At that point RASP were worth 28% of EVR.How do you work out that RASP are now 37%,of EVR.When RASP are around the same price of the De-merger announcement. Also the Market,s could already have taken into account the De-merger 615p x 28% = 172p,equates to 443p ? Goldman Sachs also gave a TP on Friday of 453p Interested in your reply !

Buy EVR before the 15th should mean you qualify - that is the demerger record date so buy by the 14th just in case.

To hold RASP you need to use a broker who deals on the Russian markets otherwise you will automatically be put into the share sale facility mechanism.

RASP share price movements cannot be relied upon as only 6.6% of the issued shares are free float , EVR holds 90.9% and the balance is held as treasury shares. Once the demerger is done then over the next 6 months there will be a continual seller of the sale facility mechanism holding.

The value should be in EVR as Putins antics have depressed the price but things could still go south. The same applies to RASP but you will also have the exchange movement to incorporate as well.

Also the current major shareholders in EVR who will hold 54% of RASP will not sell until the completion of the share sale facility.

Evening all, this might be a naive question, but I'll ask and appreciate any better informed people than me here answering! If I buy Evras today, do I still qualify for demerger RASP shares? And if so what actions would I need to take to hold them?Again might be naive, but if RASP is going up, and Evras dropping, does that not mean potential good value to achieve here? (Risk aside)Appreciate any insight here. Thanks!

The drop could be due to selling re the demerger as people finally realise the pitfalls of having RASP shares which are disposed of via the mechanism.

My rudimentary take on dividends is that a potential RASP holding is now 37% of the existing EVR value so if I do buy back in I am budgeting for two thirds of my expected dividend which was 50c per share so say 35c. This is a completely arbitrary as the 50c was based on a purchase price of 300p when I bought in 2020.

I have no idea how the market will revalue the shares but based on todays closing prices it could be as low as 285p.

Well I sold today because of the de-merger (should have done so earlier of course) and probably many others are doing the same.

Does anyone have any ideas about Evraz div levels after the de-merger ?

Is this drop linked to the de merger of the coal assets?

Q4 2021 vs Q3 2021 HIGHLIGHTS

-- In Q4 2021, EVRAZ' consolidated crude steel output fell by 0.6% QoQ, mainly because of maintenance outages in November in North America.

-- Total sales of steel products increased by 7.0% QoQ. Sales of construction products were buoyed by market demand in the period, while sales of railway products were higher following the completion of capital repairs at EVRAZ ZSMK's rail and beam shop and EVRAZ NTMK's wheel shop.

-- Total raw coking coal production surged by 34.4% QoQ, mainly because of the completion of longwall moves at the Raspadskaya, Osinnikovskaya and Yerunakovskaya- VIII mines.

-- Coking coal concentrate production grew by 11.2% QoQ amid greater coal mining volumes.
-- External sales volumes of coking coal products rose by 4.0% QoQ, as an increase in coal mining volumes allowed for greater coking coal concentrate sales volumes amid favourable market conditions.

-- Output of iron ore products climbed by 7.0% QoQ, driven by higher production volumes of pellets at EVRAZ KGOK and higher production of saleable concentrate at EVRAZ ZSMK following the completion of capital repairs.

-- External sales of iron ore products jumped by 58.1% QoQ following the start of sales to China through the port of Ust-Luga.

-- Sales of vanadium products surged by 33.0% QoQ, primarily due to higher demand in Europe and North America.

Some of us are hoping that the Ukraine situation pushes EVR a lot lower since we have sold to avoid the demerger mess. I got out much later then I should have but that's on me.

The RASP shares are listed in Moscow. As AJ Bell can't hold the shares they will be sold (by EVR) and proceeds paid in my account around 4th November 2022!

You will have the right amount, the difference will be (currency fluctuations since declaration and) exchange fees for conversion

The dividend was 20c, not 14.84p, unless you have already requested your dividend to be paid in sterling, which it sounds like you haven't for your ii holding

If you're not happy move your holding to HL, where it sounds like you have elected to receive dividends in £

I would also be careful about accusing ii of theft on an open forum !
