15/7/2021 08:11 | Time for turn surely! | rayrac
15/7/2021 06:51 | Completely off topic but why am I forced to get a test to visit 'amber' countries with much lower covid levels then say Scotland and then forced to get a test to return again. This is purely a money making excercise and i suspect there is a 'fee' being paid to a corrupt govt or to the tory party I was recently returning to the uk for one day and then leaving again and was told I still had to pay for the day 2 and 8 test regardless of the fact I wouldn't be there to use them! I'd love to see a legal challenge to this. Can anyone think of another example where British citizens are forced to buy a service they do not want from private companies? Wouldn't touch Easy at these prices. I bought, sold, took my profit and will now wait for the inevitable collapse | cloudwatcher
14/7/2021 20:57 | Indeed. You have to ask yourself why the UK Government insists on PCR tests (for Brits) to come in, but not to go out (assuming prior vaccination). The logical conclusion can only be that they are incompetent or unfair or discriminating on the basis of race (ok to export covid but not to import it) and/or relative wealth (ability to pay for pointless tests). Or all of them. Meanwhile, let's pack 140,000 people into Silverstone... | taurusthebear
14/7/2021 20:56 | @jstalin Why? They are probably worth south of 6 quid, more capital raising coming and will need more sale and leaseback, U.K. is a terminal sxxthole at the best of times and this is listed on the most hated hopeless index in the world, oil prices are rising and the U.K. is never going to get on top of covid. Must be better places to invest, US growth maybe with USD protection. Wake up muppets. | porsche1945

06/7/2021 08:45 | Spoke to one of the redundant pilots. Redundancy process being kept very quiet in uk. Being timed with end of furlough. Maybe they will sell some more aircraft as they won't have enough pilots to fly them all anyway. | 1crackupboom
05/7/2021 23:43 | 200 pilots gone in Berlin last few days. Another 500 there will be gone soon. 500 in the UK will be gone by December. They given up on any bounce back. There will be 50pc drop here by September. Just have to time it. | 1crackupboom
02/7/2021 20:36 | Go to the Isle of Wight. There is a lot to see. | joestalin
02/7/2021 20:33 | Not a big deal to have a covid test but cost in UK is ridiculous | amt
02/7/2021 16:02 | I think that the Spanish may have a part in it. Indy:- "Just 44 hours after the Balearic islands were added to the UK’s quarantine-free list, unvaccinated British visitors will have to present evidence of a negative test before travel to Spain. Previously there were no requirements beyond completing a “health control form”. The government in Madrid says the prime minister, Pedro Sanchez, personally announced the rule change “in order to protect both residents and visitors, given the rising infection rates in the United Kingdom”." | joestalin
02/7/2021 06:32 | I think it's not ineptitude by the way but a policy to boost the UK hospitality sector by keeping everyone in the UK. That comes at another economic cost though both to the airlines and many smaller companies trying to carve out new export business. It's short sighted in my opinion but that's this Government all over. | amt
02/7/2021 06:25 | Only 49 euros. The UK prices are in the hundreds of pounds. Most of Europe will be fully vaccinated by the Autumn but that's too late for this Summer holidays. The next hope will be for Skiing but Boris will need to change his philosophy and go forward with the view that the death rate is the key statistic rather than infection numbers. So vaccination will be the key indicator and it will be the need to prove vaccination at airports. At the moment vaccination is even mentioned on the UK locator form. The fantastic success of the vaccine rollout has been wasted due to Government dithering about opening up. The EU has already opened up travel betwee Schengen countries for those that have been vaccinated. Good for European hubbs and that will help Easyjet on their European excluding UK network | amt
01/7/2021 11:49 | The UK was also responsible for the fact that Gibraltar was the first place where all adults were vaccinated. That must be a good destination for holiday makers. Not France though:- Foreign visitors to France will be required to fork out 49 euros for their Covid-19 PCR tests from 7 July, the government has announced. In an interview with business daily Les Echoes late Wednesday, government spokesperson Gabriel Attal said tourists would also be charged 29 euros for antigenic tests. | joestalin |
