25/7/2024 12:40 | Those price targets mean nothing if more people aren’t prepared to buy the shares pushing up the price. | noramping
25/7/2024 12:32 | RBC cuts easyJet price target to 550 (580) pence - 'sector perform' Barclays cuts easyJet price target to 675 (700) pence - 'overweight' UBS cuts easyJet price target to 785 (850) pence - 'buy' Bank of America cuts easyJet price target to 670 (740) pence - 'buy' | davius
25/7/2024 12:19 | Over tourism is a serious problem for local communities. However, it will discourage tourists from visiting those places, leading to longer term problems for their economy. The solution isn't directing anger at tourists during the peak season. That's counter productive. It's become all too easy to buy a property and list it on providers like Air BnB. Government pressure/taxation is needed against providers like Air BnB. Any action is more likely to impact Air BnB, housing market. | sikhthetech
25/7/2024 11:25 | Difficult to understand why Ryan are up 1.6% and easy down 0.8% | sapphireblue1
25/7/2024 09:11 | My thesis is simple : Judging by yesterday's update full-year numbers are clearly going approach best ever. Meanwhile share price is long way from being best ever. | weemonkey
25/7/2024 08:48 | Yes it's true but it's a new issue. This is mainly a city thing. The brits tend to head for the Costa but the protests and unhappiness is in the city because tourism is changing. Some places protests are about behaviour, this is mainly a British issue. Drunk anti social behaviour. | sapphireblue1
25/7/2024 08:48 | Noramping,I'm seriously at a loss as to why you are on this thread. You know Easyjets business model, you know the first 2 qtrs are loss making and the last 2 are well into profit. You know that over the final 4th qtr the profit is substantial and therefore you know that it's 12 months profit is substantial. Unless we can effect climate change it's unlikely to change in the future. You know that Easyjets holidays are growing rapidly yet are still only what 6% of bookings? Therefore you know the potential for growth is enormous without purchasing any new aircraft. Seriously, why do you find it impossible to say anything positive about this company? Why do you have so much interest on a daily basis, with regard to a company that you post so negativity about. It's incredible. | cevodniya
25/7/2024 08:43 | Saphhire .. i am agreeing with you. I am just making the point that this summer looks busy. Hence the protests. | undervaluedassets
25/7/2024 08:21 | The protests we have seen on the Mijas Costa are against Airbnb not hotels. The issue is landlords removing tenants or boosting rents because they can make more short term in the boom. It's pushing prices up for locals. We'll see more government intervention against private lets, many are without the tourist licence. It suits me and easyJet holidays with more regulation against DIY ryanair holidays. Hotels are booming not just because of numbers but because of occupancy rates with the flexibility of the easyJet model. It's added 15% to our peak time revenue. | sapphireblue1
25/7/2024 08:03 | The results were ok, slight improvement on last year but still shows that EZJ runs at a loss for well over 6 months of the year, it relies on a good holiday period to make its money. I would not get to excited about the the progress just yet. Facts are USA sneezes and U.K. markets get a cold. | noramping
25/7/2024 08:00 | Don't think anyone pays attention to the brokers. Look at the numbers from the company that is what counts That, plus the fact that Europe is so full of tourists that there are anti tourism protests in places like the Canaries and Barcelona tells me everything I need to know. Tourism is booming. | undervaluedassets
25/7/2024 07:44 | Have added here. Broker targets are considerably more than current price: *RBC CUTS EASYJET PRICE TARGET TO 550 (580) PENCE - 'SECTOR PERFORM' *BARCLAYS CUTS EASYJET PRICE TARGET TO 675 (700) PENCE - 'OVERWEIGHT' *UBS CUTS EASYJET PRICE TARGET TO 785 (850) PENCE - 'BUY' *BOFA CUTS EASYJET PRICE TARGET TO 670 (740) PENCE - 'BUY' | aishah
25/7/2024 07:39 | A great update and the price goes down/sideways cos of weakness in the US stock markets. That just equals opportunity. You are getting great update and nice price at the same time. What is not to like I have bought a few more first thing. | undervaluedassets
25/7/2024 07:32 | Todays movement is general market reaction to USA yesterday. | noramping
25/7/2024 07:32 | What a ridiculous market this is. Super results, strong support for summer which is well underway, a £10m upgrade in easyJet holidays profit guidance and a clear divergence from the losers at Ryanair. I guess that the market doesn't believe them. I do I have been experiencing it. | sapphireblue1
25/7/2024 07:27 | Down again this am. | blueball
25/7/2024 07:14 | Opening down. Here we go again, so yesterday's positive update worth practically nothing in terms of value according to stock market :-( | cogs1
25/7/2024 07:08 | great price. Great update now great price thanks to weak tech stocks in US overnight. | undervaluedassets
24/7/2024 20:03 | Excellent results unlike RyanSP should reflect this next surprise only 3% up today probably some negative impact as markets in general negative today. | zam1
24/7/2024 19:47 | Update seems good to me. Having bought (1st 285p then again on dip to 365p) and sold twice at over 500p, I'm still on the sidelines for reasons previously mentioned but tempting to buy back in. sikhthetech - 02 Jan 2024 - 15:02:42 - 17419 of 18990 Easyjet 2014 and beyond - EZJ Sapphire, "Airlines won't struggle in 2024" There's war and high risk of conflict in several places around the world. If war spreads then ftse will suffer. I don't hold anymore because I believe the current potential is already factored into the price. I've traded twice over the past 15months (285p, 365p) and will look at again. | sikhthetech
24/7/2024 19:46 | Somewhat muted reaction to a great update. Then again this is day 1 after the update and the US market has had a very "off" day. The other metric that is moving in airlines favour is the price of oil - it is going down. EasyJet's recent venture into package holidays is clearly going to be a huge part of the growth story here. | undervaluedassets
24/7/2024 18:50 | I don't think that a trend can be set by a singular event. Clearly easyJet have stepped well above ryanair. Agile management and diversity in product and location beats O'Leary focus on fares. I guess that in time he will learn. There's an important difference between the businesses which means that they can't be considered side by side. Easyjet will this year make around 30% of it's profit from around 5-6% of seats flown. They can easily double that to 10-12% and make £350-400m profit on those seats. This means that witg a fleet 60% of the size of Ryanair they can make the same profit. If they continue to grow market share for the holidays it will draw people away from the current providers and the DIY providers. | sapphireblue1
24/7/2024 16:34 | II closing report: In the FTSE 100, easyJet, up 3.0%, and Informa, up 2.2%, were two of the best performers. Budget airline easyJet bucked a trend set by budget airline peer Ryanair Holdings and reported decent trading, helped by an impressive performance from its holidays arm. The Luton, England-based budget airline said pretax profit increased by 16% to GBP236 million in the quarter that ended June 30 from GBP203 million a year before. It also expects easyJet holidays to deliver profit growth of 48% to over GBP180 million for the year. Broker, Davy noted easyJet had previously predicted profit above GBP170 million for the unit. RBC Brewin Dolphin analyst John Moore commented: "Ryanair's results earlier in the week cast a shadow over airlines, but easyJet's performance should provide a level of assurance that conditions aren't necessarily gloomy across the entire sector." | davius
24/7/2024 16:30 | It's a ridiculous response to very positive news. A clear separation between Ryanair and easyJet. A clear winner and loser. However the share price will correct from here over time. Summer is here and easyJet holidays are booming. Sit back and relax. | sapphireblue1 |
