12/7/2019 19:09 | Certainly a strange reaction today. To me there are clear winners in the travel sector, new fleets, new attitudes, new approaches. DTG and WIZZ versus the old guard IAG / TCG etc there losses are our gains. One day the market will catch up | hatfullofsky
12/7/2019 18:51 | TCG will be all over the press at the weekend. Big boost for DTG coming up. PM does right to take a few out. Tiger | castleford tiger
12/7/2019 18:39 | Success and failure are both very well deserved in the markets. Always have always will be. | tongosti
12/7/2019 16:36 | Wouldn't wanna be a TC shareholder today.. Can't say we didn't warn them.. | snorkelparker
12/7/2019 16:32 | Not a particularly good follow through from yesterday's bounce.. Does anybody know what numbers for this current year are being referred to as market expectations? | snorkelparker
12/7/2019 16:31 | Not worried. As you say, probably buying himself something nice or giving to charity or buying his daughter's house. It's an odd lot in the scheme of his wealth. w1 | woozle1
12/7/2019 15:27 | I wouldn't worry about Philips sale... Its peanuts and just probably buying something nice for himself. Prefer the odd sale once in a while than a big salary and bonus... | snorkelparker
12/7/2019 15:23 | So he took out 6m quid and still holds almost 500m quids worth! Amazed he could get so much away @866p. Either placed or mms very confident that they could be absorbed at a higher price. Nice trade. Augurs well for the future | shaker44
12/7/2019 14:44 | Not a good sign but of course we all hope that it is for personal reasons. He still owns more than a third. | our haven
12/7/2019 13:13 | Philip just sold 700k shares.. So that accounts for the sudden drop | snorkelparker
12/7/2019 09:33 | Sogo - short term 950 followed by 1000 | hatfullofsky
12/7/2019 07:43 | Yes, my thoughts too, shanklin. DTG able to grow its business while TCG finds doing anything challenging (notably its strategy). Proof that market share is going DTG’s way. Unfortunately, for DTG, a business that should’ve gone to the wall will still be around, subsidised by Chinese deep pockets. Looks too like they’re unable, or unwilling, to sell the airline side of the business. Equity holders not in a happy place. | sogoesit
12/7/2019 07:18 | Blimey, obviously TCG and DTG operate in completely different markets? What a s*&^show! | shanklin
11/7/2019 19:07 | Yes will be interesting if the volumes continue tomorrow. I partly agree with you on the accuracy of the buying and selling prices but you can get the gist of the direction of travel IMO. | our haven
11/7/2019 18:38 | How do you discriminate between buying and selling volumes? Used to be easier (maybe 25 years back or so) but not any longer in my view...The way I see is we had a v decent market action with volumes trading at a 10 month high. Let's see if we get a follow up tomorrow... | tongosti
11/7/2019 17:35 | Solid performance. Still seriously undervalued with future growth bonus. Must be looking for 128p'ish forward EPS? Paying 7x gives me a short/medium term target of about 900/910. | sogoesit
11/7/2019 17:32 | My only worry about the volumes is the amount of sales in there compared to buys.Delighted by the results and an uplift to the dividend is welcome. Jet2 continues to impress. | our haven
11/7/2019 17:08 | Nice finish | hatfullofsky
11/7/2019 12:11 | Strange TCG should pop today.. Surely they aren't taking good results from Jet2 as a signal of better trading conditions.. | snorkelparker
11/7/2019 10:27 | V healthy volumes coming in - market seems to like what was released today. Watching like a hawk for a potential entry from the long side... | tongosti
11/7/2019 10:03 | Yes again - at a micro level. At a macro level - wider markets can tank say 50% in which case one can say goodbye to individual company valuations. | tongosti
11/7/2019 09:42 | A loud yes - if you look at valuations "in isolation" as the only driver behind share price performance. On such grounds, I definitely liked what I saw today going on in the underlying business. However, in the shorter term (which is not your case but is mine) market perceptions are far, far more relevant to me as I do not stick around long enough for valuations to take hold. In my world, downside is jointly determined by market perceptions + valuations. We have covered this all before so you know where I am standing on this one. | tongosti
11/7/2019 09:33 | Tong You must agree at 8 x earnings there is limited downside? Tiger | castleford tiger
11/7/2019 09:20 | CT - I agree and that's why I started my post with the word decent performance. My comment re market expectation underpins my belief that only unexpected surprises give share prices a meaningful push. I am still neutral on DTG but if this share breaks up north in huge volumes I will certainly get in. | tongosti |
