My thoughts was to provide some form of hedge vs a much bigger sell off along the lines of the last week. I'm banking on a pop from DTG as their trading update advances which in the event of all boats rising should out perform TCG even if they also rise.

I just cant see apart from the brand value how TCG can be valued at nearly 2 bill, take away good will and the debts are pretty large, especially when the profits are so thin, they are top heavy at the top and pretty slow to adapt to new technology. If servicing debt is indeed going to rise that's going to cause further pain.

I cant offer much further analysis than that and a hunch. Plus don't want to reduce current DTG exposure significantly, at least till after some further visibility with the next update.

Hiya CT

Hope our 70p plus EPS holds up..just bought another 10,000 on Friday at 6.35, might be a short term trading position see how the next few days pans out.. shorted 150k TCG shares yesterday 1.22 and looking to possibly increase that short ..

Just wondered how much more the costs could be at Stanstead hopefully not enough to dent the EPS below 70p.

Interesting to see Silver Point Capital holding a short position in TCG...Dont know much about them but they look pretty switched on and a long term DTG investor

Look forward to "intellectual" bull arguments in a bear market environment going forward.

Yes, it is a necessary option on this board among one or two others. Click on the little arrow beside the poster's name and select 'Filter'

Blocking is a word used in NK. Matter of confidence and allIn the free world ignore what you don't like. Self explanatory innit

A rookie on this board yesterday put forward his theory that FTSE is much cheaper than Sp500 and as successful does not need to follow suit. Quite something clueless individuals parade their ignorance on how markets really work. Anyone ever heard who sneezes and who catches the cold? FTSE performing worse than US indices today.

Another closed minded individual. In the offchance you read it:- I told you April 2016 selection is because it established latest all time high. Not my fault you don't get plain English. - re pre1999 situation, you should know that was a historical rarity. You're obviously not a statistician because if you were you should have known that you are effectively saying that you're betting on a very improbable outcome to come to pass. It is you who are blind to facts. So yes - I have replied to your unwise comments and it's now me who filters another wannabe investor!

T I am well aware April was the previous high point. Hence my comment and the reason why it is unsuitable because it reveals bias in the selection of your data. You did not respond to that point.

As I pointed out US CAPE has been higher for the three years 1997 to 1999 so pointing to US CAPE does not prove your case. You did not respond to that point.

Most of what you say makes very little sense and you are not willing to learn from others or in having a discussion so there seems little point engaging with you so you can go back to the "ignore" list.

Ah and no my arguments have never been about share price in isolation but you are not the first not to listen. In the offchance I am wrong: google two words: Soros + Reflexivity

- April 2016 was the previous high pal hence the reference point. It is unambiguous (ever come across the term max drawdown?)- UK cape: you really made me laugh. Can you point out last time in history UK markets did not follow US ones in a bear market? Can ya?!

T If you finally bought (closed your short or whatever) in April 2016 after months of share price increases you only have yourself to blame, but I guess that's the problem when you concentrate on price movements / trends rather than thinking more about business performance and profitability. Choose another month other than April 2016 and your argument falls apart so another example of bias in your data.

The UK CAPE ratio at the end of 2017 was 18.6

perhaps you referring to the US where it was 30.9 at the end of 2017. Note it was higher than that for the 3 years 1997 to 1999 before the 2000 bear market, so your timing may be out by 3 years - who knows, but what you predict is not solely relevant to DTG so why do you only post your market predictions here?
