26/1/2018 12:30 | Think you're missing the point: one always looks at existing drawdown (from latest historical peak). It is UNAMBIGUOUS (as opposed to whatever time period one selectively employs) and helps keep things into perspective. Incidentally you may want to check rev/earnings/cash flow growth rates of each of those companies next to share price performance (over the last two years). Will not spoil the surprise but that is exactly what a bull should really really think about. Since buffet is the high priest of this board it pays to listen to his words on the subject: "... at all times we are looking for counter arguments that help prove us wrong, not arguments that do the opposite" | tongosti
26/1/2018 12:27 | CT, Every moment you waste debating with this child is lost life that you can not reclaim. Even someone equipped with basic reason and experience knows that one month's number has little relevance on the long term outlook for a company. w1 | woozle1
26/1/2018 11:38 | From 30 March 2016, facts on the ground: DTG -1.7% EZLJ + 10% RYAL +16% TUI +50% COULD YOU REPEAT the process lets look at 5 years and I guess DTG will out perform Please. Statistics can show you what you want them to. Tiger | castleford tiger

26/1/2018 10:56 | From 30 March 2016, facts on the ground:DTG -1.7%EZLJ + 10%RYAL +16%TUI +50%Most on here maintain naively that the market is totally missing the phenomenal growth story of DTG (strangely enough they forget the market did not miss it from 12 to 700p!)I hope indeed for you the July numbers cover themselves in "glory" because if you're long a stock being at the bottom of the performance pile you REALLY need something extraordinary to discover the long gone mojo | tongosti
25/1/2018 16:46 | I GUESS you are looking at the highs in April 2016. There has of course been plenty of movement within that two year period. Well over 200p a share. Maybe the price was too high in 2016 or its too low now ( that's more likely)......the growth in the company is exceptional. From zero to 2.5 million holidays in under 6 years. New bases. Half a new expanded fleet and goodness knows where we will be later this year. I think April will give the shares a nudge up but the big jump will be July when you see the numbers in all their glory. I can wait and will be topping up in the phase of weakness. Tiger | castleford tiger
25/1/2018 15:44 | TigerI agree that only a meaningful (and a very big one at that) surprise (over existing expectations) can propel the share price higher. Absent that, one can't see how why DTG should charge higher from here. Worth bearing in mind it's two years DTG has not advanced an inch (even in the face of improving trading ops since). And this has always been my point: expectations are already sky high and the business needs to play catch up constantly with them if the share price is to reflect that. | tongosti
24/1/2018 21:26 | The link with Saga makes perfect sense given the winter sun routes Jet2 now run. Arguably though, it's more of a competitor to Saga than ally. w1 | woozle1
24/1/2018 19:44 | Interesting thoughts/rumours re saga. Jet2Holidays offer a higher level of service to the grey pound/all holiday makers than other companies. There are always more staff in resort and at the airports with the Resort Flight Check-in (return flight suitcase check-in in the hotel) is loved by them. It would make sense for saga though not sure Jet2Holidays would link up with them other as another agent. | wilddcw
24/1/2018 14:56 | I was wondering where saga would fill the gap.. Makes sense to do some kind of tie up with dart. Interesting I looked over saga for friend of mine who bought a few k in the ipo and was worried about further drops. After loosing a heap of its share price I know where my money would go.. And dart wins hands down. Shocking the way the public where mislead into thinking that was a good investment at that valuation.. 1.5 bil of good will more like 1.5 bill of bull | snorkelparker
24/1/2018 14:13 | Snorkel its normally after year end so first week in April. Bit of a boost as two Easters in the current year. Independent travel agents love JET 2 Bit of talk doing the rounds that they may tie up with SAGA who had a deal with Monarch. Good idea as the grey lot tend to avoid school holidays but have most spare income. Tongosti The share price is driven by what people know and at the moment if you believe the forecasts they look valued about right. However I feel they will smash the numbers. A couple of headwinds are improving also with $ v £ today at 1.41 some 20 odd % up from the low. Even the £ v Euro is over 1.14. All helps. Tiger | castleford tiger
24/1/2018 13:39 | Jet2 are well supported by independent travel agents and pax love their flights. | minky
24/1/2018 10:32 | 7 weeks of support at the 6.7 mark.. I'm no technician who reads candlesticks or tea leaves but it does make me think its a point to accumulate. Anyone have thoughts on when the next trading update will be released? | snorkelparker
23/1/2018 13:06 | Even with markets piercing the skies DTG not exactly having enough strength to go past 700 sustainably. Albavil - bought a few more? | tongosti
23/1/2018 10:30 | Big pop on Easyjet again wonder when some of this news is going to start moving DTG.. All the circumstances relating to Easy apart from Air Berlin are going to be positive too.. Lets hope for some of the sensible ISA funds find their way to DTG.. bought a few more at 670 yesterday | snorkelparker
21/1/2018 23:08 | That’s probably as a result of 1/2% interest on cash ISA. 50 grand gives u 250 quid a year later! Dinner for 4 Tiger | castleford tiger
21/1/2018 18:48 | Loads of talk of a market correction on here. But if we are in the last stages of the bull (not saying we are), the most cash appears to be made here as 'everyone' else jumps aboard. For a pov I now know several people who don't usually do shares saying they are going to put money in, so when the general public becomes involved you know you are closer to the top than the bottom. | bulltradept
18/1/2018 08:13 | I wish..fingers crossed its not a leg lower before we see 7 pounds touched again.. Thought we where off and running earlier this week.. | snorkelparker

16/1/2018 11:29 | Shaker & Tiger, very good posts, when the markets turn its going to get ugly for sure, but try timing that. What i think we do know, is the results are going to be strong and the company is well run. so i'm going take a chance that things are going to hold together for the next 12 months and Dart share price should rise .. I'm probably a bit too long on this but struggle to find anything else that could give the upside i think this year could hold. BREXIT is a worry but it's not a surprise if it deteriorates. Hopefully oil will level out might be wrong but really without a Middle East surprise cant see it running much further without a period of consolidation. GBP seems to be OK despite all the woe and talk of parity to the USD. So buckle up and hope there are a few more surges for this counter. As Woozle said it feels like we are at a reflection point .. | snorkelparker
