Well, never thought I'd see rocket ships on the CRAW thread. Worth reviewing recent outlook statements and news ...

FINAL RESULTS - April '13:
Outlook
The retail climate remains challenging; however I am encouraged by the continued improvements in trading over the first 12 weeks of the current year. Like for like sales are ahead and we are particularly pleased with the further increases in gross margin and improvements in cost we are achieving.

AGM STATEMENT - June '13
"At the end of April this year I stated that I was encouraged by trading over the first 12 weeks of the current year. I'm delighted to report that since then our performance has strengthened further and that I'm particularly pleased with the progress being made for the current year thus far."

25 JUNE - Director's Dealings
Crawshaw Group plc (the "Company") (AIM: CRAW), announces that on 24 June 2013, Mark Naughton-Rumbo acquired 104,456 ordinary shares of 5 pence each ("Crawshaw Shares") representing 0.18% of the total voting rights in the issued share capital of the Company. Mr Naughton-Rumbo does not hold any other Crawshaw Shares.

...

By my calculations, a 5% increase in yearly revenues should put a rocket under the share price from these levels.

Should get themselves over to Crawshaws ...

UK shoppers want convenience stores to focus more on BBQ meat packs during the warm summer months, according to new HIM research.

Questioned on what c-stores should offer 'more of/ better of' in terms of picnics and BBQs, 37% of nearly 2,000 respondents said BBQ meat packs such as chicken.

Pre-prepared salads and pre-marinated meat both received 26% of the vote, while premium meat and fish ranges were named by 22% of respondents.

Some 20% chose pre-made kebabs, 17% said ice buckets and ice, and 16% said pre-prepared picnic hampers.

Blake Gladman, HIM's research and insights manager, said: "Convenience stores are perfectly placed to cater for the needs of the impulsive shopper.

"With the hot weather leading to many impromptu BBQ's and picnics, it's no wonder that shoppers are looking for quick, convenient solutions, with pre-prepared and simple combinations to grab and go for a no-fuss experience."

I'm being offered 5.94p for 250K shares. At a guess, buying at 6p just not possible right now. Significant strength over the past few sessions. Still a very low market cap and hoping for very good results at half year.

Late reported traded yesterday.

Also caught up with news on retail figures for July which were all over the news yesterday, with Barbecue food cited as a key reason for the rise.

The simmering summer temperatures have helped to warm up Britain's dying high streets by driving the best sales in July for seven years.

According to the British Retail Consortium and KPMG, like-for-like retail sales rose by 2.2pc and total sales 3.9pc, the best performance in July since 2006.

The uptick in sales, which also represents the second best monthly performance in 2013, was led by food and clothing sales as British shoppers snapped up barbecue food and summer clothing.

Can sell loads at 5.6p. But very hard to buy any. Stock still in demand. Long term chart looks a picture. CRAW is in the best shape it's ever been since listing on the market.
