15/5/2013 21:07 | Agree Investali ... I'd imagine they'll stick to their guns, offering value for money compared to the competition. Lower fuel prices should be helping from a cost perspective at present. | chrisis33
15/5/2013 20:56 | Crawshaw wouldn't be thinking of going down that road, surely it wouldn't be viable. Ali. | investali
15/5/2013 18:07 | I've always wondered how they manange the whole activity for the cost they charge. The whole online IT system the cost of the time for the person in the store collecting the items the cost to lease/rent the new refrigerated van Fuel, tax, insurance the cost of managing the whole activity and the customer spends £50 +£5 for delivery. interesting. | cashflo
15/5/2013 00:14 | This article (2012) seems to agree with something I've suspected for a while ... That those who shop in supermarkets are subsidising those who get "free" online deliveries. Another reason why CRAW (and the likes of Aldi and Lidl) manages to offer such better value for money than the supermarkets. | chrisis33
14/5/2013 21:38 | Found this on another thread ... Surprised the share price hasn't reacted to the strong yield. Also listening to CNBC wax lyrical about the 3% dividend yields available on S&P shares puts out near 5% yield, and 6% forecast forward yield into perspective. | chrisis33
13/5/2013 18:38 | Of general interest | chrisis33
12/5/2013 21:51 | Does anyone know whether wholesale sales have been scaled back entirely? These were £1.5m of sales in 2008/9. | chrisis33
12/5/2013 13:03 | Have they thought about opening stores down south? I'm sure they'd clean up in the right places. There seems to be quite alot of empty units around Dorset where I live. I don't know what size craw would require though. I wouldn't really know about the complex factors of this type of idea, but there is deffinately a culture change regarding fresh food down here. The mobile fish wagon which visits once a week does a raucous trade and it isn't cheap, you see most customers easily buying £8 - £20 of fresh fish at a time. I think people are fed up or distrustful of anything in a plastic packet and seem to be happy to pay more for freshness. The only traditional green grocer here seems to have a constant half dozen or so customers in and you have to wait to get to the till most times but it's genuinely a better shopping experience and cheaper, quite ho they do it I don't know lower overheads I suppose. To me we seem to have rediscovered tradionalism, the irony of all is that it was brought bout undoubtedly in part by the horse meat scandal which to me hasn't gone away, in fact people seem to be waiting for the next food based revelation. I don't think I've bought a single ready meal or beef burger for 6 months now. How this all pans out for Craw is anyones guess but as Bob Dylan said times they are a changing. | cashflo
12/5/2013 11:10 | "Ms Follin reported that overall footfall is up "considerably" in one week it had increased by a third; and in other weeks it has been up between 11 and 20 per cent. St John's has reported a 15 per cent increase in footfall since Trinity Leeds opened on March 21, she said. And some stall holders at Kirkgate Market, where she said footfall was up 70 per cent, have seen a boost in sales." Sounds very positive for the kirkgate store, with footfall up 70%. | chrisis33
10/5/2013 19:00 | Some buys and some sells, healthy trading? Ali. | investali
10/5/2013 09:11 | Knigel and cashflo as Brian says best ignored, inadvertently replying to him keeps his posts coming. Before you say it i am guilty of the same but as Knigel says it's just plain silly now. Still don't understand why the major holders was raised to 5% as it changes nothing only what is printed in the Annual Report. Looking forward to receiving mine. Ali. | investali
10/5/2013 07:52 | It's simply juvenile attention seeking humour, and best ignored. | briangeeee

09/5/2013 21:48 | Unless there's a premium member who can start a moderated thread, then no. Kind of used to ignoring the nonsense posts now to be honest, but it doesn't help to get any kind of coherent conversation going. At the end of the day, the company performance will drive the share price | chrisis33
