10/5/2016 07:57 | Today's Jamie Vardy tweet made me chuckle although a little cheeky as it was when he played for stocksbridge and sponsored by John Crawshaw, but you can't knock their creativity. | playful
09/5/2016 22:42 | Talk of Leicester is that Gary Lineker might be opening our new shop tomorrow morning in his pants... | playful
09/5/2016 15:48 | Mr hangman then your personal circumstances might dictate that you invest for income rather than growth which would mean Crawshaws isn't for you. Better off in low risk funds? | hydrus
09/5/2016 15:46 | Think that was a promotion H but any meat not sold then goes in to making the food to go range; "The combination of the fresh meat & food-to-go allows almost zero stock wastage" - page 7 of the latest presentation. | mcmather
09/5/2016 15:33 | Big dividends for me all day long, i have future care home fees to pay | mr hangman
09/5/2016 15:20 | Hangers....They are fairly canny at keeping those margins consistently high...each store makes £140k a year within two years of opening so if they halted the roll out this year and stopped investing for the future then that would be converted into positive cashflow and dividends but...why stop when you are winning ? I prefer reinvestment into a winning formula rather than big dividends. It is better to have 200 Crawshaws spread around the UK and central overhead to be three times greater than when you just have 25 stores. Furthermore as a plus point....doing it from cashflow means no further dilution and no hefty borrowings. The institutions would like to have another placing I am sure and the brokers would like the fees but this is an efficient roll out model. | davidosh
09/5/2016 14:47 | One wonders if they make a profit, with this small margin, no room for error | mr hangman

05/5/2016 12:15 | I pulled the barbecue out the garage this morning and thought I’d nip up to Bramley to get some meat. Thankfully the car park is finished now so no headaches parking, simply parked outside the shop with no hassle and was happy to see it busy so early in the morning. The girl running the shop is always smiling and good with the customers and i'm so glad they have recognised this and promoted her to joint manager, it's well deserved especially having been with the company over 11 years. They have a managers meeting (she said roadshow or something) shortly and got the impression it's a regular thing now instead of once a year. I told her I was worried about the new shops once the hand holding ends, but she seemed happy the support structure was in place. I reckon with the right mentoring she might make a good assistant regional manager one day, very impressed. | playful
04/5/2016 23:19 | Very concerning the recent press articles on abattoirs and their methods producing halal meat. Welfare standards not what I'd expect and certainly not what most consumers would expect. Hopefully Crawshaws have checks in place if when they ever source it. Hope Im right in saying we don't sell it at the minute?? | battlebus2

03/5/2016 10:34 | What a great time to open a very attractive new store in Leicester.... Leicester City are the newly crowned Premiership football Champions from 5000 to 1 at the start of the season and Mark Selby from Leicester is the snooker world champion. My contact there says the city is absolutely buzzing. There will be hundreds of thousands of additional visitors to Leicester now and they will be playing in Europe in the Champions league so very much on the map and they all need feeding lol | davidosh
