Well he certainly looks like someone who can oversee the next stage of expansion. Virtually no experience outside Lidl, but promoted to COO at an early age so vast experience there. This is a long term (hopefully) hold for me , 2015 should be exciting.

Wonderful news an appointment of that quality was worth the wait.

He started at Lidle in 98 and worked his way up the ranks from Area Manager:

12/01 - Now Chief Operating Officer & Executive Board Member
08/01 - 12/01 - UK Operations Manager
11/00 - 08/01 - National HR/Training Manager
05/00 - 11/00 - Senior Administration Manager
12/99 - 05/00 - Senior Project Manager to the Executive Board
09/98 - 12/99 - Area Manager

Crawshaw Group Plc ('Crawshaw') is delighted to announce the appointment of Noel Collett as the Chief Executive Officer, and he is expected to take up his new role on 1st March 2015, when he will also be appointed as a director of Crawshaw.

Noel joins Crawshaw from Lidl, having spent 16 years with the German Discounter. He has held a number of senior leadership roles in the UK and Germany, and for the last 12 years has served as Lidl's Chief Operating Officer for the UK business. Noel has been widely credited as an instrumental figure in transforming Lidl from a low-cost brand to a high-quality value retailer during a decade of rapid sales growth. He has also been responsible for overseeing the Lidl portfolio growth from 200 stores to over 600 stores generating annual sales of over £4bn, whilst leading an expanding workforce of 14,000 employees. Additionally, Noel was responsible for the roll-out of the improved in-store "fresh concept", which included the fresh meat and poultry range, across all their UK stores.

I understand that one of the participants in the placing is/has been reducing their holding slightly. Given the volume of sells in the last few days, hopefully this will soon come to an end.

I'm looking for 1.5-1.7p eps for the current year adjusted for the new share issue. I was delighted to pick some up sub 40p last week. I would expect an announcement re the new CEO and the roll out plans and an update on trading before too long. They have consistently delivered in the last two years. All IMHO

Indeed, I don't like to be rude.

There must have been an enthusiastic seller at-any-price for it to go down quite so sharply. Perhaps a fund as I cannot imagine a private investor wanting to sell below the placing price unless, perhaps, they have extra stamp duty to pay :-)

How are the Crawshaws Christmas hampers selling ? I have heard that Cranswick the sausage makers are claiming they will have a record Christmas...I fully expect Crawshaws, who often get mixed up and mistaken by investors as Cranswick, to do far better than the much larger company.
