Hi David
I thought Colin was still working for Crawshaws - he's still shown as being on the Board as "Buying Director". And, from speaking to a couple of the shop managers, I got the impression that his buying acumen & contacts were pretty important to the company.
Bit surprised to discover that he appears to be semi-detached.....

Aston Wood was not built on sand that's for sure...

Colin still remains one of our biggest shareholders.

Lovely Christmas Hamper and the sausages keep getting better so no moaning from me on that score.

The Crawshaw mascot had difficulty contending with the weather but the staff managed to rescue him. He disappeared under the weight of the snow:

I would certainly expect a trading update in early January. Any local knowledge on how popular the Christmas hampers were this year ?
I suspect we will have a new store opening early in 2015 as well. I am personally hoping to get our new CEO alongside Richard Rose introduced at the first possible Mello which will be quite a coup so stay tuned for that one.

Happy Christmas to all Crawshaw staff, customers, supporters, shareholders and last but not least the directors. I have enjoyed another wonderful year as a shareholder and very close supporter of Crawshaws in what is and will be a very exciting growth story.

The end of year news about our new CEO for 2015 made it even more exciting and we now know the best possible foundations are in place. Bring on 2015 and the roll out begins...

In any event, if one route isn't working, another is worth trying...

Fair point…

Looks like somebody is listening we have a nice update on the news page today showing our new HQ shop:

playful,

There's also no point suggesting to this message board that responsibility for the IR pages is given to someone else - we cannot make that happen either!

And putting it into their "contact" system might (no promises!) actually work better than bringing it up at the AGM - it will probably automatically produce a "case" on their systems that will be brought to someone's attention until it can be closed, whereas AGM feedback is probably dependent on someone picking it up in the middle of everything else happening at the AGM.

In any event, if one route isn't working, another is worth trying...

Gengulphus,

They are well aware it is out of date but no action has been taken. This is a long running issue with me that has been voiced at previous AGM’s but I have seen little improvement.

I would suggest the responsibility for the IR pages are given to someone much more diligent.

Just my tuppence worth…

I wish somebody would make a little more effort with the company IR pages. We are missing 18 of the most recent RNS releases hxxp://www.crawshawbutchers.com/crawshaw-group/news

This might sound trivial to some but I think it’s important to provide up to date company information on the company specific website.

There is no way Richard Rose will want to sell out early here. This is a minimum five year plan for investors and it would have to be a huge knockout deal to derail that course. The beauty of the roll out is the minimal capex required for each store and they will not need any further funding so it could speed up quite quickly with the right CEO now on board and no doubt a small dedicated team alongside.

This could easily be worth a huge multiple of the current price if successfully done and I suspect Mr Collett will have been tempted by a decent options package. If he gains significantly from it then we all do too.

Well Aldi or Lidl could take the view that it would be wise to take out CRAW at say 80p or £1 a share. No idea whether they would have any success with that, but it might save them millions of pounds in the long run.

Noel looks to be an excellent choice and fit for what we need. I am sure Lidl who are still expanding as well will miss him and as he cannot start until March I suspect they did not want to let him go easily. That is probably why this has taken some time to get the appointment announced.

It has to be said that Noel must see an amazing opportunity for himself at 39 years old to drive Crawshaws in the same way Lidl has developed over the last fifteen years. This is a man who has been there, done it and wears the t-shirt with successful leadership qualities written all over it and this is his last 12 years at Lidl in a nutshell...

Chief Operating Officer and pivotal member of the Lidl UK Executive Board that has consistently achieved very strong sales growth and customer footfall over the last decade within a rapidly expanding portfolio.

Directly responsible for all operational matters, including promotional / campaign activity, food category planning and sales growth strategies, supply chain management, facilities and procurement, warehouse & distribution network, store operational portfolio and HR / personnel related functions.

Noel has a First Class Honours degree, Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Business & Hospitality Management
1994 – 1998

These will be exciting times ahead indeed.
